why do people, or ricans keep saying that santos was easily outboxing margo.......that's the most bull**** i've ever heard

margo almost had santos out in the 5th and continues the slaughter until the fight was stopped......the earlier rounds were pretty close...

same with clottey, everybody who didnt watch the fight, or hates margo says that clottey would've won if he had not hurt his hand....the 1st 4 rounds were split up 2-2, and dont forget that margo also hurt his hand....

the williams fight was and example of now to beat margo, you got fight his fire with your fire and have a granite chin....a boxers worst nightmare is a ****en tornado like margo, now of course it can be done, but who in the hell has the conditioning to run from margo for 12 ****en rounds, hold up when his bombs to land, and the power to dent his chin......

i think if anybody beats margo fair and square (both the williams and santos fight were hella close) it's gonna be cotto....but he has to fight smart....instead of wasting energy running or moving backwards (remember margos reach), move from side to side and confuse him, all while landing brutal body shots and hooks to his face to bust him up a bit......

all i know is they both better bring their a game....

Not only does Cotto need some killer lateral movements, but that chin better be tucked. Cotto needs to keep his head moving too, he can't come in to attack the body without moving his head, to avoid Margos shots.

But yeah Cotto can certainly beat Margo, but I don't think he could Knock him out.

I don't see how Santos won the fight. I suppose they gave the fight to him because of the environment, (Puerto Rico), and because he was the harder puncher.

As far as Santos outboxing him? Didn't see that. I saw Margarito on top of him, pushing him back and a lot of times keeping him there with pressure, and giving Santos a two fisted beating.

Clottey for sure didn't outbox Margarito. In fact, once Margarito figured out that he couldn't win the fight on the inside because of Clottey's tight guard and defense, Margarito took the fight to midrange with occasional bodyshots, and outpunched the **** out of the relatively immobile Clottey.

Williams though..........he got him. Margarito wasn't aggressive enough. Williams boxed, moved, hooked, spun, and did everything that he needed to do to keep Margarito back.

I don't know if that's the best style to beat him though. I think Williams had physical advantages that allowed him to fight like that, but as far as most of the division, he beats or gives a rough fight to almost anyone.

Hypotheticaly, and I'll go as far to say likely, Floyd would be able to use movement to outbox Tony, but he'll have to RUN all night.

Cotto has speed, power, and movement. I think he's going to win.

Well Santos Was ahead on the cards and by a few rounds, also if you read my entire statement I gave Margo credit and I said it looked like he was about to take Santos out right before the fight was stoped.

I can be biased at times, but not against Margarito I like his style a lot and I have a ton of respect for what he can do. I just think that Cotto is a lot better.

Who knows maybe this will DLH vs. Trinidad in reverse. The Puertorican outboxes the Mexian for 6-8 rounds but the Mexican comes on strong late to take it on the cards! It's going to be a great time no matter what.

By the way I am just as passinate and optimistic about a bunch of Mexican fighters, I thought JMM beat Pac both times and Rafael hasa special place in my heart as well.

I am just adding some latin spice for this 2008 P.R. vs Mexico rivalry thanks for relenting!

But one of the main reason Williams beat Margo, was Williams ability to take a shot! Cotto dosn't have this. And i do agree with your Mayweather comment, I also believe he would beat Margo. Slick boxing and running.

Nothing comes easy against Margarito, anyone suggesting otherwise is either a nuthugger of one of his rivals or just plain stupid.

Ex: Margarito might be "easy to hit" but he's gonna hit you back just as hard if not harder . . . so it aint "easy". Just ask Cintrons top two ribs and Lujans missing ear.

If you remove the word easily I would agree with you. He can be outboxed but it is not easy to keep a big strong guy like that off of you.
