Santos banked it early by doing more. Margo came on about 1/3rd of the way through and had 170lb Santos in some deep ****. But Santos survived. Tony had some issues with a cut but they let it go to like the 9th round. Santos was dead tired and Margo was looking like the better of the two. And then the PR doctor stopped the fight. Of course they were in Santos' backyard. So figure that one out.

Margarito/Santos are simply a bad matchup, both fights ended due to cuts caused by headbutts.

And I agree that Margo was starting to get the best of Santos when the fight was stopped(and the scorecards did have a bit of hometurf bias).

EDIT: Thanks for stealing my thunder Ambition! LOL

I've been saying this for years. Margo is easy to outbox and that's why I would favor a number of boxers at 147 over him. He relies on people to stand in front of him to work his magic. As long as you can take a punch, can move and counter you can beat Margo rather easily. Cotto will box more in this fight much like he did in the last few rounds against Mosley and the plodding Margo won't have an answer for it.

PBF and Cotto will both easily outbox Margo:deal Especially PBF it would be a repeat of the Baldo fight for him.

It takes a lot of energy to constantly move on a guy. Ask Quintana and Clottey how difficult that is.

This is exactly what happened, and they could have probably let it go but did not.

Clottey didn't need to move he stood in front of Margo and beat him to the punch until he hurt his hands.:deal Quintana can move look at the Williams fight i'd tip him to beat Margo the same way he beat Williams.

Wrong. Clottey was dead tired. It had little to do with his hands. He was barely standing on his own midway through that fight just holding his guard high. He punched himself out by trying to be quicker than Margo.

Quintana midway was doing nothing but lunging in and grabbing Williams. That's John Ruiz kind of ****.

    :| I hurt my hand :|

Its boxing! Hurt hands are lame excuses

AM started slow and then turned up the heat, he was the better fighter that night, thats why he beat Clottey.

Please stop with the excuses. Clottey hurt his hands cause Margarito is one tough sonofabitch. The very same thing can happen to Cotto and Mayweather.

And it's very easy to put on paper how Margo can "easily be outboxed" but yet no-one has done it.

Williams came close but it was more a case of PW outworking Margarito than anything.

As far as I know he didn't break his hand either. It was a bruised knuckle. You know how many guys have bruised knuckles after a boxing match? Seriously...

In order for this coming fight to mirror Barrera Morales1, both Margo and Cotto need to be willing to go toe to toe and be able to take solid shots from each other. like Barrera and Morales did. Cotto is not going to stand toe to toe cuz he can't afford to take a clean Margo shot. Cotto is going to box!
