Right. So Margarito would have been on the wrong end of the not-dangerous wraps, if, in fact, they were dangerous? Is that your position?

Ask yourself, would you rather get hit with nothing but padding? Or with padding with a hardened object underneath it? There's a reason knucklepads are illegal. There's a reason used pads are illegal. There's a reason that a foreign substance on used pads is illegal. There's a reason used knucklepads with foreign substances secreted into the wraps is illegal. And it isn't because they're worried about the fighters hands.

We're not even talking about Cotto. He was caught before the Mosley fight. Margarito himself said during the hearings that it would have caused Mosley harm.

That piece of garbage had used that little hardened knuckle pad before and the blood was probably Cotto's. I always wondered how the Human piñata that was this piece of unmitigated garbage could generate such destruction when he was not particularly fast, or powerful looking. I now realize how he tore a guys ear off using those pads in his gloves that would harden and damage the opponent. This man put human lives at risk in an already dangerous trade. This piece of garbage should never have been allowed to ever fight again. Shameful just absolutely a fukeing disgrace.

Margarito didn't say that. He said he didn't know what it was.

Clottey must have had loaded wraps then too since Cotto was running from him all night. Margarito would know more than anyone about Cotto's punching power, he took on a prime Cotto and was taking his punches like they were nothing.

He has always maintained he didn't know what was in there. That wasn't the point, he said that it would have done harm to Mosley had he worn them in the fight.

Anyway, the point is not whether he wore them previously, he may or may not have, or whether or not he knew the gloves were loaded then, or in any other fight before that. The point is that people are putting disinformation out there regarding what actually WAS in those gloves that night.......hand cream, sweat, etc.....which is horsepucky. Regardless of who is to blame, or when else, if ever, it had been done, that night, there were illegal objects with a foreign substance in those wraps with designed to give Margarito an advantage.

I should do a full on plaster hand wraps on myself and go down to the wrecking yard and punch holes into cars!
