He did go on the defensive and got a bit shifty the moment the picture was produced. Being a Cotto fan, I want to believe he cheated. This fight will answer it once and for all. If Cotto completely dominates, we'll know what really happened in the previous fight, unless of course it comes down to Antonio's eye, in which case we learn nothing.

Get ****ed. he fought like a man knowing he had an unfair advantage. Cotto was schooling Margarito until mid-late rounds when the effetc of the hard wraps took effect.

Take the wraps away and Margarito couldn't hurt Mosley or Pac. Maybe one body shot hurt pac a bit but he was largely ineffective

Loved Margarito, was a huge fan until he got busted. How he is still allowed to box is beyond me. There is noway you don't know your training is loading your gloves.

Basically, Margarito is a ****ing cheating scumbag who deserves Cottos punishment

Rooted for Antonio the first fight, now its war Cotto

If you look at the Margo-Cotto fight, the punches that rearranged cottos face was not hard punches!! IT was uppercuts with NO POWER behind,he was hit with a lot of punches but none of them seems to be punches that would do such damage. When Cotto took that knee,he looked like he was being hit with a bat!! Not even Pacquiao who actually hit him really hard, knocked him down a couple of times produced the same injuries as Margarito did. What also seems strange is that it was late in the fight he start getting his face ruined.I THINK he has loaded gloves and the pad/plaster gets hard when they where getting wet, after some rounds.(sweat, maybe some water). My point is: THE punches that caused all that damage wasn´t trown with any power or speed, just accumulation of punches thrown with rockhard pads.
The picture Cotto showed in the face off didnt look like the handwraps i have seen before...BUT only Margarito knows and Capatillio.
But atleast they got a rematch that will show who´s the best.Margarito fought a great fight against Cotto the first time,But would he have stopped him ???
I think Margarito is a great fighter, but i really don´t like his attitude....

^^ Which is what bothers everybody. He was literally tapping his jaw with flick punches and was hurting him. I couldn't understand how those punches were making him take a knee. All i thought was Margarito REALLY has to be ****ing strong

So many questions I always raise in these threads.

Another I don't think I have mentioned yet is why oh why would this man kill himself to make 147, make himself a punching machine capable of breaking volume records, take hard punches like they were skittles (Nazim Richardson said it, not me) and put off starting a family till after his career if he knew all he had to do was put a little bit of extra plaster in his handwraps.

In my opinion we will never truly know if he cheated in any fight, but I certainly doubt he knew about it.

You guys need to educate yourselves. Cotto/Margarito took place in Vegas. Under Nevada rules and procedures you'd have to be some kind of magician to even attempt to use illegal wraps.

Yea, cause it's so hard to slip past officials, no wonder the CSAC caught him.

    Oh wait.

Of course he cheated against Cotto.

Who cheats against old man Mosley, yet doesn't cheat against a 32-0 guy who was regarded as a bit if a monster?

    ****ing hell....

I'm not sure at all that this fight will provide much clarity to the handwrap issue in the first fight. Too many issues to consider.

If Cotto dominates Margarito, well you also have to take into account the wear and tear on Margarito from a long career, in addition to getting the living **** beaten out of him by Shane and Manny and a serious eye injury.

If Margarito beats Cotto again, maybe he just has a psychological edge of beating him before.
Possibly illegal wraps added to a stylistic advantage. Perhaps Cotto doesn't have the same
hunger he did 3 years ago. Every fighter is different.

If Cotto swells up again and looks all ****ed up, it would lead to the conclusion that Margarito was clean in 2008. Well maybe his skin has gotten more sensitive and prone to swelling/cuts over the years and punishment.

The only thing I can think of is if Cotto takes a lot of shots to the head and barely marks up. The other scenarios, there's too many other possibilities at play.

Well for one thing, Margo didn't get to use those illegal wraps in the Mosley fight. So he couldn't tell what they would feel like once he started punching. Besides, what helped Margo in his fight with Cotto was Margos ability to absorb Cottos shots, his conditioning, and his relentless pressure.

The fight against Cotto was overseen by the NSAC and not the CSAC, big differance. Keith Keizer don't play around with the hand wrapping.

It's a big mistake for Cotto to convince himself that his lose to Margo was due to Loaded Wrapps. Because once Margo does land in their rematch and Cotto realizes the punches are just as hard he's going to mentaly break down.

Cotto's only chance in redemption is that Margo's right eye might not stand up to the shots and the ref will probly call the fight with the first signs of blood or swelling from that eye. I do believe that Margo is a little more worn than Cotto, but mentally he's in better shape. Cotto already confessed that he will not risk his health if the fight gets tough.

Good luck Avenel :thumbsup, nothing against Cotto but I don't think he'll pull out the win. Let me ask you this though, if Margo beats Cotto this time around will you still think he used loaded wraps against Cotto?

I agree, also having fought eachother once before will make for strategic changes that could drastically deviate how this fight plays out.

Looking closely at this pic, you would have to be crazy not to see how that wrap looks like ****en cracked dry wall and for some odd reason the dye from the gloves only stained the pinky side of his knuckles were you can actually see a straight line.

He may not of cheated v cotto but I aint buying this crap about he never knew what was happening in the mosley fight.

Looking at cotto's face after the 1st fight I tend to think he was cheating in that one as well. Margarito does not deserve to be give the benefit of the doubt.
