If Margarito sucks so much how does he have a top 3 wins of his era?

It will always be controversial since his exposure in the Mosley fight.

*Margarito is how his name is written in the history books!

It was a legitimate win. Nobody has prosecuted Margarito. He is innocent.

And who gives a flying **** if he's slow. It doesn't matter. Arguello was slow, Monzon was slow, Foreman was slow, Golovkin is slow. What matters is being strong and skilled.

Might agree. It's the last PPV I remember being 'worth it' for the event and for firing up the casuals I saw it with.

I don't know, maybe Garcia > Matthysse & Money > Canelo was still good (not as good as Margo-Cotto I, obv.)

After last year's "superfight" letdown, I'm gonna have a hard time getting anyone to show up for Ward-Kov - which may also under-perform as far as exciting casuals.

Bradley-Provodnikov was a better fight. Cotto was outclassing Cheato easily in the first 6 rounds. Then the wraps activated and that's when Cotto started to get beaten down by bricks.

That is and was one of the most dramatic fights of the 2000s without a doubt.

Two fighters one from Mexico, the other from Puerto Rico who use pressure to brutalize their opponents but yet are almost polar opposites in technique and ability.

Margarito a rugged over achiever who's ability to throw over a hundred punches a round, endless stamina, and supernatural ability to absorb punishment vs Cotto who is an extremely flashy cute fighter who despite having good technique and skills was somewhat fragile, and would trie after round 8.

    Great contrast!!

They both left something in the ring that night, that is for sure. Neither fighter was the same after that.

No harm done at all. You listed them in your very next post. :beer-toast1:

Speaking of Mosley-Margo, I remember that being one of the most satisfying fights to watch at the time, considering the situation surrounding Margo's wraps. Watched that fight repeatedly a few times, wishing I was there to see it live.

Yep, he was exposed big time after his tainted wraps were discovered. The look on his face as he came to the ring after he got busted -- knowing he had nothing to keep an enraged Mosley off of him with -- was memorable.

He wasn't skilled just a big guy with a good chin and stamina who picked on smaller men that's it. The win is tainted, what win of note did he have after he beat Cotto?
