This has completely been blown out of proportion. I am surprised that Margarito and Rios have been so lambasted for making fun of Freddy Roach. Obviously its not "nice" or "respectful" and of course its "insensitive". But its a ****ing fight camp for gods sake!!!! Any man that has been an athlete in training knows that degrading and salty stuff is constantly thrown around. You could go into any high school football locker room and hear young men saying violent things about what they will do to the other team, horribly degrading sexual **** about girls, etc etc The locker room of any professional sports team will have plenty of rough talk and despicable things being said. None of it is intended as serious. Its done for laughs and as banter back and forth between friends and team members
I'm with you, it's only hype before a big fight, nothing more. Now we got a bunch of salty vaginas and Pacman hoping for an apology. Roach is no saint, and has run off at the mouth for months.. Now he sounds like the little kid who started crying after starting a mud slinging contest. The first shot and now he is the victim.
Margo taking the **** out of roach was tasteless but you know what this is boxing, if Roach and Pac took it to heart then I guess that it worked out in Margo's favour. In boxing people talk a lot of ****, who to say when you should draw the line? Pac fans?
I agree with the TS, been saying that all along....People have thin skin on ESB...Was it nice? of course not, but it's boxing...
Talking **** about someone is one thing. Hyping a fight is another thing. Debasing someone that has a disability is another thing all together. It is apparent that people on here were not raised properly if you don't see the difference.
We also shouldnt have "condoned" Ben Rothelisberger playing after sexually assaulting multiple women, but that doesnt seem to bother anyone. Making jokes is nothing malicious, even if it isnt "nice". This whole response is reflective of the bitched out, pussyfied attitude of american men and the society at large. Anything that might be perceived as offensive cant be said and should be apologized for, because its "mean and insensitive"
It was some really messed up ****. Just like most of us have done/said in a locker room. The difference is that our locker rooms don't have cameras. When you become a professional athlete in an individual sport, you become a brand and an image. A true professional has the wherewithal to act appropriately when the cameras are on. Since he was dumb enough to do it on camera, he deserves the flack.
Actually this bothered a lot of people and is the reason he got a suspension. It could have been a lot more stiff for him as well as what he did was criminal, but since he was a pro athlete he got away with it which explains a lot about our society in general. You seem pretty dense let me help you understand some basic morality. When you insult someone or try to hype a fight it is best of you dont insult someone with a disability like parkinsons, dementia, mental ******ation etc.
You should have not condoned it then. We are (I hope) a more civilized society now. There are jokes that are out of bounds in today's society. To cite an example, I couldn't use the N-word even in jest against a black person because I am not black. If I do so, then I would be forced to apologise and/or get beaten up. That is not a pussified response to an inappropriate joke.
The more I see videos of them mocking and joking about their handwraps and now a disease the more I question the kind of man Margarito is.
Yeah well Ben's act should have bothered people. Because it doesn't speaks loads about how athletes are given special treatment by people cause they are like gods to them. it's ****ing sad. gtfo about 'pussified attitudes of american men', i see you don't mind the degradation of sincerity and kindness in our society. it's attitudes like yours that sends views of americans down the shitter. what you don't seem to get is that you can't put these athletes on a higher pedestal than normal people. one malicious act (bens) that goes unbothered doesn't give leeway for another to go unnoticed as well. **** talk is fine, but not when your making fun of someones disease that affects millions of people. there is a line that can be crossed with these things. please stop trying to act like everyone should go hard on each other. i guess society should be the opposite of 'pussyfied', so everyone go out and make fun of someone with cancer, and all bystanders give him a medal.
You guys just don't get it. I'm sure being the ******* Roach is, he wasn't offended by it at all. It's the Parkinson's victims and their families and friends that were offended. If they did nothing wrong, they wouldn't have apologized and just defended their oh so funny joke like some of you do.
