He has a good chin, but iron? Iron are people like Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, etc. The thing is, Margarito drained himself to fight guys which he was a weight class or two naturally bigger, so he's able to take their shots. If he actually fought at his natural weight class, 154-160lbs, he would be nothing more than a journeyman, even with bricks.
Definitely iron. Mosley had to land 50 or 60 clean rights on his chin before it cracked. And Shane needed just 2 punches to hurt Floyd badly and almost drop him. Floyd has good chin and can take a punch
margarito has a granite chin, mosley didnt knock him out, margarito was laughing and about to get up, the ref stopped it

Wrong. Oscar is around the same size as margarito. Also, paul williams and hearns to name a few... huge guys for their weight class. And oscar and chavez never got hit as much and as clean as margarito did. Definitely a granite chin
Whose chin at Welterweight would you consider more iron than Margaritos? There may be some, but I doubt there would be much. JCC and Oscar De La Hoya were good enough boxers to avoid punches, Margarito's style and skill level meant he took more shots to his chin than Oscar and JCC did. The man took bombs from Mosley over a 9 round period and was still laughing. Also even if he was weight drained then that makes his chin even more solid.
Look at the shot that finally hurt Margarito. Mosley went all out. Ut was a counterpunchers dream shot (or close to it).
I have to think, despite feeling Margarito did have an iron chin, Pac went easy on him. There was a shot in the 6th where Pac staggered AM, and if Pac had went for the kill, AM would have been KTFO. That he recovered from that shot was impressive but Pac didn't seem to actively go for the KO that night.
