Depending on COTTO'S training, I think Miguel can paint a masterpiece on the rangier Margarito. The Boriqua would need to employ excellent footwork and utilize aggressive and creative counter punches. I think Cotto has the style and temperament to fight like that. For a full twelve versus a tough SOB, volume power puncher in ANTONIO MARGARITO is the QUESTION! That's why I can't wait for this EVENT and I give MAJOR props to both MArgarito and Cotto, nothing but mutha-freakin respect to these very impressive pugilists!
Let's start by saying the fight will be in Las Vegas. Where most of the fans are going to be of mexican descent. Cotto could have ask for the fight to be in NY. Where there are lots of Puerto Ricans. Why in Vegas???? Because whoever wins will be making an statement at Floyd's house. Not reason for Floyd not to be there. I think Cotto is going to win. Is going to be hard for Margo to throw that many punches against a good counterpuncher with the power Miguel has. And we have seen how good and quick he is getting. Specially with that jab. Of course Margo also has power and more important, he knows how to finish the job. So anything can happen. But I have to go with Miguel Cotto.
So all Margarito's newfound, enthusiastic fans of Mexican/Mexican American descent (and various other nationalities) will be there to see him stop Cotto, of course. Top Rank planned it that way specifically for the big rollout of their new "boxing superstar" Antonio Margarito. Just think how much money they'll be making with another celebrity boxer in their stable. Top Rank has been planning this for a long time. Don't believe it yet? Check back with me on the 26th at about 11pm.
On the body shot subject, Margarito defends his body pretty good in comparison to covering up his head shots. he usually has his right elbow tucked in with exception to when he throws the right. I think that because he is a good body puncher himself, he knows the importance of covering up to the body.
That's what we're getting so far. Not one factual piece of information or evidence here to back it up.
Ask Daniel Santos If Margarito Likes It To The Body ... His Body Is Wide Open And He's Very Much So Open For The Left Hook
Daniel Santos was a huge 154 fighter and was well on his way to ggeting Kayoed before the fight was prematurely stopped.
Not true. Santos won the final round of the fight, and was only visibily hurt in the 5th round. Anyway, Margarito hasn't never really been tested to the body, though he was dropped early in his career with a body shot and Paul Williams claims to have hurt him bad to the body in sparring.
Yep Santos was like 170 i think on fight night and still was on his way getting KO lucky for him they stop the fight.:hey
