When Margarito first fought Williams he was ducking cotto, even if he does fight Williams someone will post that he is ducking Clotty. All biased opinions.

Well, he has beaten all of those guys except for guess who? But that's still Bull****. There is not a single fight fan who would consider him as ducking anything if he fought Paul. Nice try though.

I woudn't go as far as to say that margarito is duckin PW but i think margs is goin to try and juice(RIGHTFULLY) his new found fame, especially by chasin DLH and get that big pay day. Margarito has got a lot of momentum right now and fightin PW is kind of risky.

Did you think juicing his fame was ok for Floyd when he choose Baldomir, equal fight money, and a Oscar fight by not fighting Margarito or do you think he was ducking Margarito?

True! If margarito can't and probably won't get that big pay day against De La hoya, then it's back to business and he SHOULD fight PW(i personally want to see that fight as well), if he doesn't then it can easily be said that he's ducking PW. Every fighter that deserves it is entitled to a big pay day but guys like Floyd seemed to over do it :-(

  8. Margarito should fight Cotto again before rematching Williams, easier fight more MONEY$$$$$$$$$ Cotto get's KO'D sooner next time once a fighter get's the hell kicked out of him like that he's never the same:-( Williams:rasta style is a nightmare for Margo with that punishing jab, youth and a high punch output, and at 6-1 Margo can't get leverage like he could on the short 5-7 Cotto, Margo should avoid Williams and push for a money fight with Oscar..

How? Who would turn down back to back 20 million dollar fights. Floyd fought Hatton and De La Hoya after he fought the lineal WW champ and the former Champ, Baldomir and Judah. What is wrong with that? If making money is good for Margarito why isn't it good for Floyd?

Cotto fight only got him 1.5 million, plus he made Cotto quit, there is nothing unsettled between them. Now is the time to fight Williams and crown a division champ.

  10. Cotto didn't quit his corner trainer told ref Bayless to stop the fight, his face looked like it went thru a meat grinder, and that's what a corner is supposed to do look after their fighter, If that fight had lasted another round Cotto could have been killed, he didn't quit..

Cotto got he **** beat out of him. He is off the table for a while. Nothing else matters until Margo's chicken ass signs the dotted line and quits MAKING EXCUSES!

you're talking about an avoided fighter who risked the wrath of his promoter to fight williams in the first place - who himself was an avoided mandatory - and you STILL want to pull down margarito for it?

margarito gave williams his shot in the same way tito gave winky his shot (albeit further down the line).

anyone who wants to be childish and **** on margarito for not taking williams again needs to remember that he never had to fight him to begin with.

That's a bunch of SCARED CHICKEN****! I have never heard this excuse, and trust me, I have heard many! Who gives a ****? He didn't give Paul ****! He earned that fight! And he beat him. So now what? Does that make Paul lesser of a man because he wasn't as marketable at the time? That sounds like some "why I hate PBF type of ****!"

stop whining and listen for a second...

marketability is a big thing in boxing - and it determines alot of big fights.

arum consciously bypassed the williams fight and margarito went ahead and signed for it anyway. that deserves big props.

if you want to win an oscar you're going the right way.

if you disagree with me without all the complaining because it seems to me that, now that margarito has earned his place at the top of the tree, williams supporters are crying foul.

and by the way, i've been backing paul williams since before he fought margarito and called him to win that fight on boxingbanter's forums.

but the truth is - margarito just put himself a step ahead of williams in the boxing world and there's nothing you can do about it unless williams pulls something back.

He'll fight Williams again. I think that he's gonna try hard to get that fight with DLH first to cash out. I don't think that he's scared of Williams, but at the same time I think that Williams, out of all active fighters at 147, has the best chance to defeat Margo
