Margarito is currently doing his job beating the other guys @ WW. Even dating back to Judah's reign, Margarito had more wins over top 10 ranked WW's then Judah, Mayweather, or any other top WW COMBINED. And he has defeated Cintron (x2), Clottey, and Cotto since. This is the only division MArgarito has really campainged in (aside from a few trips up north). So expectnig him to have cleaned out divisions previously is moot.

However, I understand why you said what you did considereing WHO you were replying to. Aztec Warrior is probably a LITTLE biased.

There is nothing worse then a bunch of fanboys who post on fighters they barely watch or know anything about.

ANyway, Margarito's wins @ WW are pretty close to par w/ Mayweather's wins @ 130, the only division he stayed long enought to face several top contenders. Although his insistance on NOT facing other belt holders does hurt that a little IMHO.

you just hit the nail on the head right there if it were any other fighter it would be floyd but its oscar and there will probably never be another guy like de la hoya who can draw like oscar and guarantee the recognition exposure and money oscar brings so if oscars offers any fighter would be stupid not to say yes...not the way it should be i'll admit and the sooner oscar retires the better

    That's absurd. Please don't become a promoter.

Margo wasn't a household name like DLH nor was he seen as more of a threat. Please review old DLH vs Margarito threads PRIOR to PBF fighting Oscar. Most believed DLH would beat Margarito and Floyd. If DLH was perceived as the premier opponent at 147-154, why would Floyd fight Margarito? I wish people would stop making things up to validate their positions.

For PBF to come out of retirement to fight Margarito (and probably win a UD) says a hell of alot.

If Margarito was already making huge purses, his insistence on facing DLH AFTER all that had happened between Margarito and Mayweather would look bad on his part. But he too is allowed to choose major money when he's not even CLOSE to the same tax bracket as some of his peers, who have had the ability to pick and choose who they wanted.

Definitely De La Hoya . . . DLH is about to retire and Margarito would never have the chance to earn "Big $$$$" . . . and besides I would be happy to see Floyd get a dose of his own medicine. Make him look like a complete fool.:deal

He has never cleaned out a division. Lets see at 135 he fought Castillo and Corrales. Did he beat Casa or Freitas or Campbell? No At 140 he beat Gatti. He did not beat Cotto or Zu. At 147 he only beat Judah and Baldo. He did not fight Margarito, Quintana, Mosley, Clottey, Williams, and Cotto again. Floyd did not clean out any divisions!

Floyd started his career at 130 pounds, not 135. You conveniently left that off. Corrales fought Mayweather at 130 pounds, not 135 btw.

Floyd beat a HoF fighter in his 17th pro fight to win the 130 pound title against a fighter who had NEVER lost at 130 pounds. (His only loss was to Oscar at 135). Floyd then defended his title 9 times at 130 pounds.

Also at 140 pounds, Arum didn't want Mayweather to fight Cotto. (Remember, Arum promoted both Cotto and Floyd back then) Tzu was a Showtime fighter and Mayweather did not have the mainstream recognition required to have a big fight between two fighters from different networks. However, he did just knock out the man that beat Tzu, so I believe that is a moot point.

    FACTS > conjecture

None yet but he's working on that . . . he is still active. Floyd? No more . . . no chance . . . he's retired and he's not interested.

Are you asking these because you don't know? Or to make some sort of point?

You don't become a great by ONLY beating ATG fighters. No one has ever done that.

While I would like to know why Mayweather never wanted to tussle with Casamayor @ 130, he DID beat the divisions top guys during his reign. Go to boxrec and look it up if you need names to look at.

Actually you did not list 130 pounds because:

    A) It does not fit into your inaccurate argument.

    B) You just don't know.

    C) All of the above.

Floyd has cleaned out a division. Fact.
