    You misunderstood the thread.

    He said if they were in the same weight division, pretty much stating P4P would Ali's style have given him problems.

    Find it and look it up again. That was the one I saw anyways.

    Margo started boxing at a young age. I don't know how old he was in that fight but he does look young. If you are fighting against adults when you are a teenager and not fully grown i wouldn't be suprissed if you got knocked down. Most people credit Pacquiao with having a good chin but he still got dropped a couple of times whe he was young.

    Also, it depends what type of knock down it is. Generally you get knocked down for four different reasons;

    1) You get knocked unconcious - this leads to a KO.

    2) Your brain gets scrambled - this can lead to a KO but if you have a good recovery rate you can get your senses back together and beat the count.

    3) Flash knockdowns - usually happens when coming in of balance (i.e. Calzaghe v Hopkins). Genrally the only thing hurt here is your pride.

    4) your brains are fine but the sheer force of the punch knocked you down. This is just basic physics. Your brains might not get scrambled but when a certain amount of force makes you move so fast in a certain direction your body cant balance itself in time and you fall over.

    Points 1 and 2 are usually seen in people with weaker chins. Points 3 and 4 can happen to anyone even those who poses iron jaws. I believe this particular knock down of Margarito is a due to point 4. Evidence of this is due to the fact that he got up straight away and appeared clear headed.

    It was a flash knockdown, not unlike Roy Jones vs. Lou Del Valle. Not due to weight or balance -- like Peter's KD of Toney -- but not a terribly destructive punch, either.

    In any event, whatever questions anyone would have had about his chin should have been answered by the Cintron and Cotto fights.
