    Yep, It's just a matter of the CA DoJ determining the exact substance for the purposes of the hearing. The **** has well and truly hit the fan for Margarito.

    No there not going to make any decision about his recent wins. What they're doing is exactly what you siad figuring out what to do about it. And add to that allowing MArgo time to get his defence in order.

    This simply is not true.It is routine proceedure to suspend a fighter when he has been stopped in a contest.Margo ,depending on the jurisdiction,would be automatically suspended for at least 60 days just for being tko'd.Why this has not been pointed out is beyond me.

    If the charges and accusations turn out to be true he should be banned and the Cotto fight a no-contest

    They have to go through a hearing first before the can hand down permanent verdict(just like what happened after Tyson bit Holyfield). Here's an explanation of why a temporary suspension was handed down before the hearing;

    “The licenses of Mr. Margarito and Mr. Capetillo were suspended pursuant to Business and Professions Code section 18842, which allows for the temporary suspension of a license when such an action is necessary to ‘protect the public welfare.’ CSAC Rule 323 limits the amount and type of gauze and tape allowed under a fighter’s boxing glove. Rule 390 allows CSAC to discipline a licensee when his or her actions are a “discredit to boxing” or violate the rules of CSAC."

    “Commission staff will have no further comment until such time as the Commission makes a final determination of whether licensee actions in this case warrant fines, suspensions, or the revocation of licenses. The Commission has asked Mr. Margarito and Mr. Capetillo to appear at an initial hearing currently scheduled for February 10, 2009.”

    "The temporary suspension will remain in effect until CSAC has fully investigated the circumstances surrounding events at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 24, 2009."

    Is it that hard to understand? I see no 6 months there...and no proof at all that Margarito is guilty of anything.

    can't you read el illetro:

    "The temporary suspension will remain in effect until CSAC has fully investigated the circumstances surrounding events at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 24, 2009."

    No proof of nothing there.
