I don't like the fact that this guy is calling out elite and top fighters out after he beat some C level fighter who was in his prime like 8 years ago and got knocked out by Sugar Shane back then. Margarito first needs to rematch with Paul Williams and I also think he should rematch Joshua Clottey since that was a close fight. He was actually losing until Clottey hurt his hand. He's in no positiong to call out Cotto, Mayweather, Mosley, or Hatton at this point in his career. I see alot of people saying Cotto should fight him next. That would be like Cotto taking a step back in my opinion. Margarito has no fan base, No belts, Has like 5 losses, and just lost his last fight against Williams. Cotto just beat a definate hall of famer in Sugar Shane Mosley. If i was him I'd go for Pretty boy floyd, Delahoya, Hatton, or Williams in that order. Then Margarito if he's proven himself.

Margarito is one classless individual. He should take a page out of Cotto's book and just STFU. Let the fighting do the talking. :yep

This issue with Margarito goes back to the summer of 2006, in which he recieved a lot of positive reinforcement for calling Floyd out when it was percieved that Floyd was ducking him.

He doesnt understand that now he needs to fight, win, and pave his way to big fights instead of talking.

I disagree. Clottey was beating him until he hurt his hand, and Paul Williams beat him. He has 5 losses. He throws wild looping shots most of the time.. The only good thing i like about him is his uppercut that's about it.

Cmon now dude.. Williams was still a prospect when he beat Margarito.. And Clottey was whipping Margarito until he hurt his hand lets be realistic. Margarito is more hype then substance. I'm not saying he's a bum. He's a pretty good fighter but that's about it. Luis Collazo would be him easy IMO

Margo needs to understand that he's a fighter who is nothing as a box office draw, and he ain't enough of a proven fighter to overcome that, at least not for calling out the big names in the division.

He should be thinking Cintron rematch, Williams rematch (if he can get it), or perhaps even a Berto or Quintana. He needs wins and better wins than one like Johnson.

Yeah well when you have 5 losses on your record, have no real fan base, and cant sell tickets then you have to be a match taker. When you're recognized as the P4P best or you're undefeated and elite then you've earned the right to be a match maker.

I'd rather watch Margarito over Mayweather any day of the week.

This is the same **** that was said months ago.

Margo was at one point ranked the number one welterweight in the world, he was the only one fighting and beating top 10 fighters for quite some time and thats how he got his ranking. He is already proven, just look at Cintron, he made him his ***** and made him cry, and right now Cintron is a title holder getting big props for his wins, and suddenly Margo gets the shaft. He lost his title to another guy almost no body wants to fight.

Margarito has been calling the big names for quite some time now and he gets ignored. I am absolutely not guaranteeing that he will have any success against them, but he is a solid fighter ready to give anybody a good run for their money.
