We do not really know if he used that plaster against Cotto. It's just a theory not a fact. And also, Shane has dominated Margo NOT because he didn't use a plaster. It is because Shane was the better fighter that night.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Shane's win against Margo but we all know Margo got caught with that plaster before the fight. Going against Mosley while having that feeling of being shamed off because he got caught cheating took some of his focus away from the fight.

I can't wait to see Pac vs Margo. I love Pac because he made us Filipino proud. He always thinks of his fans and always makes his fights exciting. He loves challenges and make us nervous everytime he fights. Now Margo is going to be the tallest of them all.

Valid point. I hope he is still the same, cause if he is, it will definitely be fight of the year candidate.

I hope your' right, because if Margo isn't too badly damaged (or weight drained) then he could make a fight out of it. I still see it as a mismatch myself, though.

That fight was more complicated than you'd think and we can put it into perspective today. Mosley looked pretty awful in all of his last 4 but vs. Margarito, so it's safe to say that an aged fighter beat the **** out of Tony, very convincingly I must say. On the other hand, Margarito was rumored to have pretty serious weight problems and he didn't look very fresh in the ring, plus the handwrapping scandal broke out right in the middle of mental warm-up, and you can bet the commission threatened to deal with it after the fight. Now imagine Tony's mental state entering the fight - to understand the seriousness of the situation, just listen to Lampley's very excited voice during the ring walks. I think Mosley, weight and the scandal all lead to that kind of crushing loss, with of course Shane being the biggest 'factor', I'm not taking credit away.

All in all, distracted or not, Shane still beat the **** outta Tony, so it's unlikely that he can perform on the Cotto-level again. The other big question is how much Top Rank want a fighter they OWN (TR not only stood by him but likely helped his case not to go to the justice system, so Margarito owes them Bigtime) to let it all out vs. PacMan or simply work for that paycheck like happy Clottey did in his lackluster loss.

This is a second chance for Marg. If he somehow wins, he's an A list fighter again and the hand wrap scandal will be largely ignored/forgotten by many. That is surely a motivating factor for him. It is a chance for him to draw a line under the last couple of years.

If the Margarito of old shows up, Pac maybe in for a much tougher night than expected.

I still can't see how Margarito is going to be a threat to Pac, the difference in both hand and foot speed will be too much for him to handle, coupled with the fact that Shane has showed everyone that he can be hurt (I know Pac isn't as big a puncher, but he will land a lot more often than Shane) and I can see an easy night for Manny.

The Margarito that was raped by Mosley, wasn't a 100% Margarito.

And seeing as though we've only seen him in one fight at a weight he's more comfortable at, it's very difficult to gauge what state he is in. It’s a very risky and unnecessary fight to take. Pac fans should be extremely concerned if the machine that destroyed Cotto turns up, because that Margarito will walk through and eat Pac’s shots like tic-tacs.

Margarito's chin isn't as cracked as some are making it out to be. Against Shane he was stopped because he was heavily exhausted, no longer being able to stand up to the bombs coming his way. Pac's punches will have sting and come in higher volumes, but they won't possess the clout of Mosley's repeated winding hayemakers.

Bull****. Margo was destroyed because he had no casts and could do no damage. He was always slow and he always fought the same way. Mosley beat him cos Mosley is the better fighter by a long long way. Don't make excuses for a dispicable cheater like Margo.

:good Great point. If he wasn't expecting to use casts why would he care so much if they were removed!

summed it up quite well I think. you hear commentators all the time talking about a fighters pre-fight routine and how interruptions can alter the boxers state of mind going in to the fight. Even small things like minor time delays, 1 minute too less/much to warm up etc. Margarito's pre-fight routine was smashed that night against Mosley, and as a result, you can gurantee it at least impacted on his state of mind going in to the fight.

Margarito, nevertheless will most certainly be a challenge for pacquiao, and I'm tempted to say more so than he had in his previous 4 fights.
