**** no he didn't cheat... Cotto just can't box for ****!!! And his power is very overrated. Who has he beaten up at WW? I mean, who has he really KTFO and put to sleep? He low-blowed Zab, got gifted against Clottey... Ran from Shane... Only Quintana.
There's a lot of factors. I personally never truly bought the whole cheating thing because although Cotto was scoring nicely early on Margarito is delivering some devastating body attacks from like round 2 on. That ****'s gonna catch up with anyone esp. when Margarito is not letting Cotto rest from round to round. When people talked about plaster hardening towards the late rounds I figured you could believe that or you could believe in perfectly placed body blows showing their effect in the late rounds too.
Not cool... Mosely needs to man up and fight PW.... I don't think Margo can beat him, honestly. Too fast and powerful.
**** Margarita! He's going to be nothing but an average fighter - actually he was average before he got busted trying to use loaded gloves. Margarita's secret has been exposed. So now fighters will no longer be hesitate about getting hit and will be gunning for Margarita every chance they get. Just wait and see. Btw, I thought that Jewish mobster, Bob Arum, was going to "VINDICATE" Margarita before his suspension was up. IT NEVER HAPPENED.
True, you have a point. All of these fights sound great. Williams/Margarito 2 is something I thought would happen for sure but the series of historic events that followed in Welter showdowns made it less and less likely. But a 2nd fight would be amazing.
He could beat Cotto again. He has the style to beat him and he was fighting well against him regardless of the loaded glove thing, but if he really did cheat it takes away respect I have for him and the win wouldn't matter that much to prove anything. Why would he need that little help with the gloves and maybe hurt some other fighter just for his own winning record. If he did load his gloves, he could really hurt another fighter's skin and end their career like what happened with Collins- if the beating was bad enough. That is not excusable. That incident with the gloves will never be forgotten by boxing fans. I wouldn't mind seeing him fight again and he hit hard and was a good fighter, but that incident was too widely reported for boxing people to really totally forget.
...Really? Fact: Margarito is serving a year-long ban for cheating. He loaded his gloves illegally in order to gain an unfair advantage and possibly maim his opponent in Mosley. Fact: Even the suggestion that it was the first time he would have attempted such tactics is an insult not just to my or anyone else's intelligence, but to the word itself. Fact: Margarito is 0-1, by brutal knockout, in the single fight we have seen him where we know for sure he has had to fight fair. Fact: Margarito realistically should never be allowed in the square circle again on account of the fact that he could have killed someone in there cheating as he did. Thank the gods that he has incredibly limited ability and no one was seriously injured.
It is funny how A$$hole Margocheater fanboys throw out a challange at a fighter who he already beat to stir up a debate to justify his return. I personally would never, ever watch a boxing card with that thug on it. He, like the south african fighter just months before, should be banned for life! People who support his return make the same lame arguments: A) He needs to fight Cotto to prove he did not cheat in their earlier fight. The fact is he attempted to maim SSM for a paycheck. Why should he fight ever again? It really does not matter what he did in the past all that matters is what he did that night before SSM fight. B) The potential matchups with his return would be great for boxing. With the rise of MMA the return of an individual who could have shortened the career, maimed or killed another man to further his career will be a huge black eye on the sport. The business of boxing is suffer due to the loss of casual fans. His return would turn these individuals off even more and would be a major setback in the gains that have been made over the last year with the cross over appeal of Pac and PBF. I do not care if it was Ali, a young Mike Tyson, Oscar, RRJ . . . etc . no one is bigger than the sport.
"Margarito" haters? He could've killed someone. That's like saying "Hitler haters" or "****** haters".
Ward makes Margarito look like Jesus Christ! Ward's personal referee really came in handy. Kessler was so naive to think he could get a fair fight in Ward's home town. Ward got caught cheating with the judges, all three his own judges, then Kessler fought him with his ref?! The huge billy goat head butt was so clearly intentional, yet Ward's personal referee said nothing and also said nothing about the low blows, some landed on Kessler's hip and even below! Holding was also bad. Why is it that Ward refused to fight unless it was in his home town? I guess we got the reason. It's a shame, he could have won fairly without illegal tactics? Perhaps? Whatever, all the cuts cause Kessler lots of problems. Ward was awared a tech dec because of a very blatant, Illegal, head butt, A neutral referee would have disqualified Ward. The huge billy goat head butt was so clearly intentional that is was unbelievable. Ward's ref sure came in handy. It is a shame that the fight was not on the level, could have been a really good win for Ward. Winning by illegal head butt is not good for boxing.
There is no proof that Antonio Margarito ever used plaster in any of his fights. No evidence whatsoever. Innocent until proven guilty! Regards, OJ Simpson This content is protected
No. I never saw him fight before the Mosley fight and didn't really know who he was actually, so I had no opinion of him. But when i found out he was cheating I had no respect for him and thought that he should be banned from boxing for life for doing so. If you betray trust like that you don't deserve to continue fighting. I think most peoples' beef with him is that he cheated, not whether or not he can beat Cotto without cheating. I think he might be able to beat Cotto without cheating, but that's irrelevant. He cheated, did something that could have serious and permanent injury to an opponent. He may be repentant or whatever but what penalty is there? I think it's up to his promoter, and the different governing bodies to step up to the plate and say they will not sanction any fights from people who are caught cheating like this -- immediate and irrevocable lifetime ban from the sport. Same w/ illegal performance enhancing substances.
