Margarito: "I am the Best Welterweight in the World"

Strange then that your first reaction is not to list his achievements, but to basically post 'Margarito doesn't need to prove himself bcoz everyone on the internets finks he is teh amazing'?

I don't care how many of his opponents you can dress up as 'top ten welterweights' (I assume you're including Cintron in that, for example, despite him never having beaten anyone to justify such a claim).

Margarito has established himself as 'one of' the best welterweights. If he wants to be recognised as 'the best' then he has an obvious opponent that he needs to fight and beat. The fact that he has on his record a recent loss to that very opponent only increases the imperitive.

 

Yeah PW lost to Quintana he had to rematch him Margs didnt lost to Clottey hes doing it to prove it wasnt a fluke 2 major differences

 

he just beat the #1 ranked guy in the divison? Stopped him...? Same guy that crushed the only guy to give PW a loss?

why do all the anti marg characters always forget the fact that williams refused an immediate rematch
he was asked in the ring about a rematch and he turned it down and said he was looking for bigger things,then in the post fight interview he again declined
the only reason he will fight him now is because he is the top dog at welter no question
yall need to know what you're talking about when you say who ducked who marg ducked williams way before
marg gave williams a shot when noone would

Well that's open to debate I think! However, Margarito is right up there. He lost to Williams & until he rectifies that, he cannot call himself the best WW in the world.

 

He is number one right now. If he beats Williams it will become official.
