Why does it matter that Margarito beat Cotto who beat Quitana who gave Williams his only loss? That don't matter. When they stepped in the ring Williams beat Margarito and thats who Margarito should be trying to fight. Williams at least avenged his loss to Quitana and is a top dawg in the division. That should be the only fighter on Margarito's radar.

right now I believe margarito should be #1 at welterweight...he just defeated cotto, who was consider the man at 147... his loss to williams wasn't oversided and it has some unfinish business... so I would agreed a match between williams vs margarito should happend to see who sits at the top... my only advice is for these two to hurry, because 09 is arriving fast and cotto could be as hungry as ever to claim his spot back...

He already beat Clottey. Although he does have to beat Williams to be regarded as numero uno in my opinion.

Margarito is definitely the most feared man in WW. I hope Margarito gets to fight as many big fights as he can, because this is his prime, and his time to shine. But, its sad other fighters might want to derail his prime, without ever fighting him. That's sad.

Even though Cotto lost, he still is a major player in this thing. He is the best boxer in WW still. Paul Williams size and punch volume makes him difficult as well. Don't forget Cintron also.

margarito is already past his prime. no welterweight in the world would have a chance to beat margarito in his prime. he was even badder 3-4 years ago than he is now.

"Antonio, this is Paul Williams, I have been trying to reach you about a re-match of our bout in Summer 07. I mean, I really want to give you a chance to revenge that loss. Amigo, we both have straps now...I mean I know you are a Mexican Warrior and all. I just want to give you a chance to bring more honor to Mexico. And Oh, by the way how about 4-million dollars just for you to take on me... Call me back.":deal

Watch what you and Paul Williams wish for. Honestly, who is really afraid of Paul Williams? He is so skinny, and I bet the KO in his last fight was the luckiest punch of his career, and it will never be duplicated again. Paul Williams still has unfinished business with Quintana. There should be a rubber match in my opinion.

I guess you ignore Williams too. Sigh...I feel sorry for Williams with all the Margarito huggers who are in denial.

Um...Williams skinny or not, is asking for Margo! Margo is chasing money. A Rubber match with Quintana...for What? That one is over...a 1st round KO does not scream for a rematch. However, a disputed decision loss by Margo to Williams does indeed scream for a rubber match and its ironic that Margo is not the one doing the screaming.

A fighter can sign a contract and set up a fight, but that is different than actually fighting someone once in the ring. Williams went backwards, a lot more than going forward against Margarito. I think the Marg fans mean someone going toe to toe and trading big shots with Marg. Cotto did it, Williams didn't. Margarito's face looked clean like he hadn't been in a fight against Williams. Williams should ask Bolt which running shoes he should wear in the rematch, if he doesn't want to get beat up like Cotto.

If its over, then he could make more of a statement by beating Quintana again. When is 1-1 mean it is over? To me that's a tie. I think if Quintana wants a rubber match, then Williams should be a gentleman and oblige. Just like Ali did for Frazier.

I was at the fight, and all this "going backwards" you're talking about, well I didn't see that from 30 feet away from the ring.
