The poll has Cotto beating Margarito almost 2 to 1.

If this fight ever takes place I hope the real odds reflect this.

    Easy money.:yep

thats is a valid point you brought up. even though margocheto probably used bricks, that had no bearing on the fact that cotto couldn't hurt him once despite landing on margo repeatably

LOL are you serious? If Margo had his hands loaded don't you think that would make Cotto weaker and weaker with every round that passed specially with Margos relentless body shot attack? The more you get tired the weaker your punches are! Not to mention what it would do to you psychologicaly when you are getting hit that hard. Thats ****ing common sense, Mosley KO'd him in round 9! Which means he had to work 9 rounds to take him out.

Mosley and Cotto where almost on the same level at that time. If Margo would have loaded his hand in Mosley's fight, Mosley would have ended like Cotto. The same goes if Cotto had fought a Margo without loaded hands he would have taken ALOT less punishment to the body which would lead to more stamina/power/lack of respect in the later rounds and he would've done the same that Mosley did.

Like I just said. Margacheato style is hitting the body. Which gets you tired. If you add bricks to his hands it means that he will hit harder to the body, which would mean that Cotto would gas even faster. That would lead to Cotto becoming weaker after each passing round, which would leave him with less power, because not only he is gassing faster from the body shots, he is gassing because he is getting hit so hard he has to stay moving instead of trading.

Cotto hits is in the same level or near Shane's power. It took Shane 9 rounds to take Margacheato out. If Shane would've finished him in less than 5 rounds then I would take that as a valid point.

Of course it's relevant. Cotto was in command of much of the first half of the fight before being worn down and eventually stopped. Assuming Margarito had illicit hand wraps, it would be fair to speculate that Cotto could have endured the full 12 rounds and won on the cards had the fight been contested on a legal and even playing field. Granted, he probably fought the wrong tactical fight against Margo; but he could have still won inspite of his flawed fight plan/execution.

revenge and a proper beating would be nice..but...

Cotto would be foolish to give this jerkoff another big payday.

thats were you're wrong. mosley has shown more power in his career then cotto has. look at what he did to mayorga at 154. nope you have a point about the bricks taking a toll on mosley but also take into account that mosely also has a better chin then cotto does. so there is no guarantee that margo, withouth the bricks, cant hurt cotto. either way a rematch would be very interesting and would answer alot of these questions.

If Cotto really believes Margarito had loaded gloves this would be the perfect chance for Cotto to prove his point. Unless Margarito is right and Cotto is just using that "won't give him another payday" as an excuse.

Not to mention that Margarito is one of the biggest purses available to Cotto.

Wraps or no wraps i feel margo wins every time he took cottos best shot and it did nothing cotto wilted under the pressure his fight with foreman proved he is relevant but not that he can beat an all forward volume punchuing pressure fighter like margo

im no fan but i think cotto is past it he still can fight yes he beat foreman a good fighter but still hasnt convinced me he is ready for that fight

You're asking me if I'm serious with that example?

So you're saying because Thomas Hearns knocked Roberto Duran the **** out in 2 rounds, he should instantly have done the same to Leonard?

Your analysis is also flawed in that again - Margarito didn't wrap his chin - That's what Mosley was touching all night.

The point is Cotto couldn't stop Margaritto coming. His face was just as busted up by Pac as it was by Margarito.

I think Cotto has nightmares about Margaritto walking through everything Cotto landed on him and hitting him over and over again.

    Compubox for that fight -

Cotto had a 280-267 edge in total punches and a 101-30 gulf in connected jabs.

Sounds like someone trying too hard to come over his fear of facing Mosley. That's called 'projection'. :D

margarito's words are hollow after loading up the first time he fought cotto. now he has to accept the true consequences of his action s and be a support PPV fighter which is justice.
