atsch  :nono Margarito is making a big mistake if he thinks he can just come in and bulldose Cotto. If that's Margarito's plan? Then He's going to be on the recieving end of a lot of counters in between his looping and wide punches. Not a good idea if you ask me.
If Cotto and Margarito just stood there traded punches like they were Barrera and Morales what do think would happen? Who would be standing?
Did he really say that? Source plz? Making press releases like that will just add pressure on himself. If it's intended to psych up Cotto . . . I don't think it will work. Cotto doesn't talk that much . . . but he is fearless and will never get intimidated.
Sorry about that guys...I'm trying to feed my baby boy here and I forgot to post the link. All taken care of back up top.
This is simply what Margarito does the best. He can't become a technician over a night or even a half-year. He can also use his size pulling the opponent like he did against Lujan, but I don't believe Cotto will take this game. He is not so stright-forward, he often backpedalled into the ropes himself even in 140 lbs where he was much stronger than his opponents.
Honestly if that's how the fight plays out in my eyes it'll end like Cotto vs Pinto back when Cotto was a 140 pound fighter. Now I'm not comparing Pinto to Margarito as a fighter. Because Margarito is a better fighter overall then Pinto, but more so style wise. With how they were both taller then Cotto, and they both threw wide, looping punches. Cotto being the shorter of the two in the Pinto fight was an advantage then, and it'll be an advantage in the Margarito fight. In close quarters Cotto's punches during an exchange will be shorter, crisper, faster, and straighter. Margarito being the taller, lanky armed fighter on the inside is at a disadvantage in my opinion.
Margarito's seems confident, however it won't make a difference. Cotto will win a clear decision by beating him up-close and at long-range, I'm very confident on this one.:good
That's why I'm picking Cotto by UD. Also, look for Cotto to slug it out here and there during the fight, that's when Margarito has a chance to truly shine and I seriously doubt he will.
