Margarito "I Will Finish Cotto In Four!"

Cotto would beat him to the punch more often than not.

Margo would land some though, that is why Cotto is going to box, he will play it safe.

 

Since this fight was made camp Margarito has been walking around with **** eating grins on their faces. They already know this fight is there for the taking.

I don't think he will underestimate Cotto. I think they just know what will work. They've been in many fights with smaller opponents and Margarito doesn't struggle with them. Unless he's imparied like he was against Clottey. No such luck for Cotto this time around.

I've said before and I'll say it again. The uppercut is the small man killer. Margarito has blasted out lots of guys smaller than him. Cotto is a special one no doubt but he won't escape those limitations.

Margarito more or less has issues against opponents who are plain bigger than he is. His brawler style doesn't translate well there. But against a semi-fluid methodical punching smaller welterweight he will have a field day.

 

This is Margarito's biggest fight ever and a shot he has been waiting for a LONG time, I wouldn't expect him to get careless not even for 1 second.

 

Why would that be suicide? Cotto covers up when his opponent is punching generally. Throwing anything at Cotto is a great way to stop him from doing damage or scoring because he loves to compartmentalize offense and defense one at a time.

On top of that Cotto is not a murderous counterpuncher - in fact, he's not a murderous puncher in general. Cotto is an accumulation puncher.

 

Well he shouldn't give Cotto too many freebies but I know one thing. That left hook to the body that Margarito throws is going to surprise some people here. After he finishes with the right hand his left hook to the body is very close to Cotto's ribs. And it's well disguised as his body hides it coming up under.

Because that distance is so close I expect Margarito's left hook to the body to land at a decent clip.

 

Yeah it was his prime. And no Hearns wouldnt be a better example cuz he took a beatting in those three rounds...Duran got blasted with one shot and put to sleep.

Cotto hurts Margarito with a left hook to the body ... or Margarito hurts Cotto with a right uppercut ...

 

Only time i seen margarito cut was against santos twice by headbutts and cintron in his last fight,but cotto has been busted up in almost every fight i seen.I think cotto is finally fighting a true natural strong welterweight,with punching power,solid chin and stamina out of this world.Cotto doesn't have the footwork of floyd mayweather and u all talk as if cotto has a great defense,margarito said from the jump he's starting every fight fast now,so i hope cotto can last the first round with over 100+ punches thrown.

I see margarito busting cotto up worse then judah did and cotto better hope to god he isn't busted up like that within 4 rounds,because margarito will just continue to punish him until cotto has cintron moment or his corner thrown in the towel.

I got margarito by 9thround ko with his uncle throwing in the towel,but when it's all said and done it will be one of the best fights in boxing history.

Every post you put up has something to do with Cotto losing to tom, dick and harry and your always proven wrong. Damn I thought this was gonna be a close fight now I know Cotto is gonna school Margo....damn man you ruined the anticipation.:yep

 

Margarito has every right to be confident, but it doesn't take away the fact that he is a 1 dimensional fighter..im not saying that its going to be an easy fight for Cotto cuz anyone who can take your best punch and keep coming will be a headache, but i believe that cotto can outbox margo to a UD

 

Margarito is not an idiot. He's just saying that to psych-out Cotto and promote the fight

 

:good I agree, people talk as if Cotto is now willie pep b/c he boxed off the back foot for a few rounds against Mosley. People don't relize mosley's reflexes are shot. That is why he is so easy to hit. Lets now forget how Cotto blocked Mosley's looping right hand with his face.

 

I wouldnt exactly say looking at their records is a fair judgement on the outcome of the fight, Margarito has not been given the same opportunitys that cotto has, and had he been given fights with Judah and Mosley I am sure most of you wouldnt know who is going to win.
Mosley took the fight with Cotto becuase he figured Cotto was a easier fight, Mosley took no time in rejecting a fight offer with Margarito.
However its still a pick em fight, if Cotto boxes and bangs in the right spots he will win, Cotto will have to get on the inside and work the body, a place where Tony has been hurt before, but he has to be smart he must get in run off his shots and get the **** out of harms way.
if Cotto keeps Tony turning he can take advantage of that poor balance Tony has.
if Tony makes it his fight from the first round on, it will be a short night which IMO is the only way Tony will win if the fight goes late or to the cards its Cottos fight.

 

Margarito is an idiot when was the last time he stopped anybody in 4.
