So if the foreign substance was cotton wool or an absorbant rubber or whatever - It's irrelevant?

How can you say something is illiegal if you can't even identify what it is?

Yeah... must have been cotton. :nut Sorry man, but I'm just not that naive.

Who said that they didn't identify what it was? They have already concluded that there was indeed a foreign substance, and they have revoked his license for it. I am a fan of Margo, but that **** really isn't debatable. They don't have to disclose to us what the illegal substance was. I am sure that they aren't looking to draw even more attention to this situation and damage the name of boxing even further. If it wasn't an illegal foreign substance, he wouldn't have his license revoked. Simple as that.

They know what it is, but are too embarrassed to make it public that it was a plain piece of moistened gauze......

.....what basically happened is that both Margarito and Capetillo got a one year suspension for moisture being in the gauze!

.....at least thats what its going to amount to when the Commision comes out with an official statement.....I have yet to see any boxing site report on this.....

.....does anyone have a link to one?

The investigation was concluded before it ever began.

It matters because not only in forums like this, but in the media Margarito has been accused of plastering his wraps......that accusation alone lends responsibility to the CSAC to confirm or deny if that is indeed the case.

Sooner or later that truth is going to have to come out, because its the commission thats going to come out looking like a bunch of baffoons if they leave it as it is now.

Btw.....where is this information that Capitan posted coming from?

So if someone kills a person I guess the only important factor is what they killed them with??? The man cheated, he cheated by putting the pad in the wraps to start with, and now the word is there was something on the pad...Does it really make a difference as to what is was??? Is that substance going to make it more or less cheating..Whatever it was, it wasnt suppose to be there...Besides I think that there will be news to follow.

Can't belive how anyone would post something as dumb as this so i have to think you're just extremely biased, your argument is pointless it makes no sense you can't just say this guy cheated or this guy killed someone ,we are sure of that but we're not going to prove it, there's a reason for everything if they don't want to say anything is because they're hiding something.

Either they're trying to protect Margarito or they don't want to admit that the "illegal substance" was something irrelevant and they rushed to judgement and banned him for a year without having enough proof and now they don't want to admit it (wich seems a lot more likely because the comission doesn't have any reason to protect Margarito)

It doesn't matter if he had gauze with dog **** on it, its a foreign substance and is therefore illegal. Though i do agree that it is pretty **** poor of the commission if they don't name the substance or elaborate on their findings (after eluding to further information being provided mid march).
