I understand why people dislike Margarito but no matter what people think of him outside the ring, when he's inside it, there is no braver fighter in the sport today. He took a potentially career ending beating against Pacquiao, went through surgery and came back to fight a top level fighter, a hard hitter and someone who was out to target his weakness. Despite being hit with numerous insanely hard shots, Margarito's reaction?

Despite my admiration for him, I can't complain about the stoppage. Actually, it's because of my admiration for him that I'm glad the fight was stopped when it was. Margarito's sight is at risk here and he shouldn't have been allowed to fight on, in a fight he had little chance of winning when he was taking such punishment. I hope he rests, heals and can fight again because the sport truly will miss him when he retires.

Margarito is a one in a million fighter. A terrific attitude towards the sport and no matter what record he ends up with, he'll have a legacy he can be proud of: A genuine warrior. In a sport that is being flooded with guys like Mayweather and Dirrell, guys like Margarito stand out even more.

He has an ATG chin. Thats it. Other than that he has no punching power (loaded wraps deaded that), has no defense, is slow as molasses.

So congrats. No other fighter takes a better ass kicking than Margarito.

I recall you saying the same **** about Adamek after the Vitali fight, and afterwards saying that he is absolute garbage.

Are you going to do the same here?

nonetheless, Margarito is a really brave guy.

Now, that is just a very solid post.

A fighter will not win all the time but if he fought bravely despite all odds, he deserves respect.

Adamek is brave. I said that before the fight and said it after. I called him a poor challenger because he is, but he's still brave.

He is a very tough guy...one of the toughest Ive seen but having said that, his attitude toward the sport is NOT terrific, after all he was caught cheating and whatever legacy he had he screwed it himself. Everytime somebody says Margarito they will.bring up the plaster and how he went downhill after getting caught which puts an asterik to his whole career

I'm not saying Margarito is an unbelievably great fighter or anything. He has his limitations but none of those matter to me as a fan. I don't care how fast a guy is, I just want to see two guys who come to fight. No matter who he's against, Margarito will always come to fight and give the fans what they pay to see.

Margarito has def become the most badass mofo to me in terms of pure toughness and crazyness.... used to be mayorga, and while I love Mayorga and he will always be one of my all time favs, Margarito is on another level of crazy (but I like that :yep)

Margarito is all heart and toughness.

In his prime he was an effective pressure fighter. He was never truly elite, but a good fighter nonetheless. The handwrap thing is overblown . His fights would have gone the same way with or without wraps.

I do love Margarito's style. Too bad he doesn't have the speed and power to go with it. Imagine if he had Tyson's gifts. It would be scary with his relentless pressure.

The only Boxing argument that I'm stubborn on is this one.

Margarito deserves no respect. The man is a thug and a criminal.
If he'd got away with it that night, and Shane had ended up like G-man, would Margarito give a toss?

He has nothing now, not even a pair of fully functioning eyes, just a solid chin and an attitude that makes it all the sweeter when he gets busted up.

Boxing is an art, tough guys, articulate guys, quick guys, powerful guys, it takes all sorts to make the sport great; but this Scumbag doesn't deserve a place.

How about the pressure he applies on his opponent? Even though Cotto used his superior skillset to beat the **** out of Margo's eye he wasn't out to destroy him like some anticipated and once again as the fight went on the pressure was getting to Cotto, and his face still ended up ****ed. I really really really wanted to see the finish of the fight.

No, I didnt say you called him a poor challenger, I recall you throwing all kinds of insults towards him. I'm pretty sure you will do the same here after all the smoke blows over, first Margarito is a warrior, and and then he will be ****. Nice of you to try to boost your reputation with this thread.
