It is the opposing fighter's management to see that the other party is not doing any shenanigan. If they failed to do so, they don't have the benefit of hindsight to declare they were cheated or the fighter's gloves are loaded.

This was a cowardly performance for someone like Antonio Margarito.

Margarito isn't a cutie-pie boxer, he just adopted that style for this one fight because he knew Garcia had the superior power and didn't want to get knocked out.

Don't go thinking Margarito is this versatile jack of all trades now, if he tries applying his "boxing skills" in a match with someone who's actually a slick boxer themselves he'll get embarrassed.

He should just stick true to who and what he is rather than cherry pick slow opponents and try to pass himself off as slickster against them, and should have let nature run its course and gotten KTFO by standing and slugging with the much stronger but slower Garcia.

 

I disagree, He did the smart thing. Sometimes you have to adopt a style to beat a certain type of fighter. I would like to see Tony mix it up like that against shane mosley. You never know it might work... Antonio was walking right into shanes power shots all night, you dont do that type of **** with a power house like mosley! Margs was walking into mosleys punches like shane was a 9 year old girl with NO power... Big mistake.

 

If he fought a typical Margarito style fight against Garcia, he WOULD have been knocked out. :deal Brutally. Worse than by Mosley.
