Margarito is Cotto's Last Fight Under His Current TR Contract?

Not too much more that TR can do for Cotto. If I were him, and were able to jump ship, I'd discuss a possible deal with GB to score a fight against Canelo.

As a Cotto fan, I hope he does well. He looks like he's got the makings of a good business man.

 

He's done very well from Ecko clothing aswell. I'm not sure about commentating, he doesn't seem to have a personality that people really tune in to, being that his native language is spanish and I speak about 10 words of that (5 of those words are numbers!) I'm not sure what he's like at breaking down fights etc.

its so true and its so ****ing predictable and all of that **** would go in the 24/7 where as without the 24/7 it would be a much harder fight to promote on paper, who would want to see it when he was dominated the last time.

I dont want to see it because Arum will make him ink another long term deal to get that matchup and arum despises cotto, he likely will loose to pac and after that he will be given the crumbs for the remainder of his career.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if Cotto calls it a day after this fight and the good payday. Passion for boxing seems gone IMO after hearing some of his recent statements. Pac rematch would be the only winnable fight left which could add to his legacy.

 

He has Cotto promotions, Echo line and owns half the gas stations in Caguas!!!

If he beats margarito, he still has what it takes to clean out the jr middlewt
If he loses, he can still do rematch against either mosley or clottey. There's still some good options for him.

Can Cotto still do WW? I think that is a better option for him if he makes it comfortably. He only went to JMW because Arum copped him an easy title there if I recall correctly.

 

Good news for Cotto. Now he can sign directly to MP promotions and start making real money. I hope Manny advises Cotto into signing with Shaw promtions as well so Cotto can get paid from two promotional companies like Pacquiao. If Cotto listens to Manny he should have no financial problems at all. MP promotions is one of the top promotional firms in boxing and signing Cotto should give them the edge over Golden Boy promotions.

 

I want to see him fight Canelo to fill the vacancy for world champion in the jr. middleweight division. I don't think we will see that one though.
