Margarito is nothing but a gatekeeper in the welterweight division

    If Margo is a gatekeeper cause he has 7 losses, that means that Hopkins is a gatekeeper also, right?

    I definitely agree with that. But even if he has slowed a little, Cotto doesn't have the stamina and chin to make him pay for it. I think in the rematch Cotto will make the mistake of trying to outbox him, then tire himself and face the same fate.

    Honestly, he needs to use the same strategy, but execute it with more conviction. Stop all that "backfoot punching" and load up and actualy hit the guy. And instead of 3 and 4 punch combos, he should be doing 2 and 3 punch combos and get the **** out.

    Or either tie him up better.

    This would do the trick imo..Gives him a rest and makes Marg reset..A please at least attempt some body shots

    Honestly Margarito is a alright fighter I mean he doesn't have all the skills in the world but hes a tough SOB. Honestly I dont think hes the number 1 Welter Weight in the division but the reason he got to that position is because after Floyd retire Miguel took took that spot and Margarito beat Cotto. .Margarito is definitely not a gate keeper to the division and if he was there wont be to many fighters getting passed him. A lot of people hate on him right now because he wont take the Paul Williams fight even though he got offer some good money but I believe his promoter is trying to put Margarito more in the spot light against well known opponents instead of having a rematch against Paul and the risk to lose again.

    I still think Cotto will try to switch up his gameplan, instead of improving the old one. If he switches up, he will be playing into Margo's hands. He will allow Margo to escape a pounding and wait for Cotto to tire. Then it's back to the same ole **** again.


    And you're right Symphenyceo, Margo has a tough time resetting once he gets taken off of his motion. I just don't know if Cotto has the arm length and strength to tie him up...

    I think the Margarito isn't any different than Verno Phillips ... I think that this fight between he and Mosley is a true crossroads fight ... it seems as if Margarito has been given too many chances and has only stepped up to the plate one time.

    Margarito was choosen as an opponent for Cotto ... suprisingly Cotto lost, which set the scene for a rematch.

    I think that Cotto was put in position to win ... until now Margarito has never headlined a venue and has never fought in a big time event.

    He loses to Mosley and then loses to Cotto ... you can consider him as good as gone.
