I expect Margo to say this. From the moment I heard Cotto will pit against this fighter, I knew something isn't right and already suspect Margarito is too big for Cotto. Handling of each punch power will show in the fight.

muscle mass weighs a lot. it certainly weighs more than fat, and neither guy has any (fat). Cotto's body looks more like the more mesomorph type of the two.

Shane was not all the worst for ware, and cotto punches did nothing to slow him down. Cotto was just as busted up as judah, in there fight .

I believe Clotty hits harder then Cotto and Cintron both.

I said it before this fight even happened that Cotto isn't that strong of a puncher and his power is overrated. His power comes from his left hand and he fights out of the orthodox stance.

I also made that observation concerning round two. When they were exchanging, I saw Margarito hit Cotto with what looked like an uppercut to Cotto's breadbasket. Cotto nearly doubled over from that shot, and I thought to myself right then and there that Margarito was going to put the hurt on Cotto and possibly stop him.

Margarito only reaffirmed this belief because in the third round (I believe) Cotto caught him with a combo, and Margarito responded by slightly nodding his head and smiled at Cotto. Did anyone else catch that?

To those who think that Cotto will have a better chance if he comes forward I say, "I believe you are dead wrong." Although Margarito caught Cotto with some solid punches, I don't believe they were with full leverage on some occasions because of Cotto's movement. Margarito didn't have a lot of opportunities to set his feet until after the sixth round, thus the fight went into the 11th round. If Cotto comes forward in their rematch, I believe it will give Margarito an opportunity to set his feet more and get more leverage on his punches. That will spell doom for Cotto, and will result in him getting KO'ed earlier.

If Cotto comes forward, I see Margarito by KO in 5-6 rounds.
If Cotto runs, I see Margarito by UD or KO in 9-10 rounds.

Either way, Margarito has Cotto's number. :bbb

Cotto probably has more muscle mass in his legs than Margo does and obviously from the pic Margarito has a larger body frame than Cotto.

Margs. chin is like a heavy duty barometer with a very high capacity. On a scale of 100 pts. (100=KO) of the barometer, lets say Cotto hit him 50 pts. @ best. A guy like Cintron hit hm @ 70 and @ 154 he was hit @ 70 pts. too.

I believe what Marg. says and it's not disrespectful, but that does not mean Cotto does not have a good punch, it's just that Margo's barometer is industrial. Now take Judah, his barometer is not industrial strength. Lets say 100 pts. on Judah's barometer is equal to 50 pts. on Margs. barometer, so a guy like Cotto was able to take him out and it would make since that if a guy like Cintron could land on Judah, he would put him to sleep pretty early.

Bottom line; Chins like Margs. are pretty rare so although he can accuratey guage how hard opponents hit "him", it's not an accurate guage to judge if Cotto has good power for the welterweight division. IMO Cotto has solid above average power that gets the job done through accumulation.
