According to Arum, promoter of both WW champions, this fight is coming next. Margarito will vacate, fight Cotto for the WBA title and Clottey will fight for the vacant title.

What do you think? Who would win this great great welterweight matchup?

Cotto would beat Marg convincingly IMO, by either a wide UD or a late TKO (Corner stoppage, Cuts or Accumilation of body blows).

Cotto would use his vastly superior boxing skills to frustrate Marg and nullify his sloppy pressure with lateral movement. He would keep Marg off balance with his jab and and counterpunch him on the way inside.

On the inside Cotto's punches are faster and sharper and he would cause alot of damage with his body punching. His defence on the inside and outside is alot better then margs and i believe he'd have alot of trouble hitting cotto with his wide, slow punches. Marg also cuts and bruises quite easily and Cotto is renown for rearanging peoples faces.

    Cotto TKO10 :good

So Arum makes it double here then?

One of his fighters fights for a vacant title and his top two 147 lbers go for a super fight. Nice. Wonder who Clottey faces?

Anyways Lampley said it best when he said the fans win here. I figure Cotto wins a close contested UD against a very gritty and tough Margarito.

Neither of these guys can beat Mayweather. I think Margarito will beat Cotto. I dont think Cotto can really hurt Margarito but Margarito can hurt Cotto. I know Cotto looked awesome against Gomez but dont be fooled by that. Cotto,s chin is and always will be suspect and Margarito bangs pretty good and from all kinds of angles. It will be an action packed war and I wouldn't miss this one.

Well the IBF rankings are as follows-

    1. Joshua Clottey
    2. Andre Berto
    3. Zab Judah
    4. Antonio Margarito
    5. Shane Mosley

(These were before todays bout between Cintron and Margarito)

I don't know exactly how all the ABC sanctioning bodies work but i assume the No.1 (Clottey) and the No.2 (Berto) will fight for the vacant belt.

So looks like Clottey vs Berto for the IBF belt is a possibility. Quite an interesting matchup aswell if it gets made.

Going to be one of Cotto's hardest fights to date but I am confident he will win clearly, because he is much better boxer. And he wont break like Cintron, Cotto has shown heart and that he can come back from being hurt, and its clear he is still physically a beast at this weight.

I think Magarito wont present a puzzle, Cotto will outbox him and counter him for the most part. But he will bring size, power, non stop pressure and one hell of a chin. In most 12 round Cotto likes to have a break, or he fights economically for a while and I sometime question Cotto's stamina over a long and high paced fight. This will certainly test that.

I am interested to see how Margs takes Miguel's body attack and vice versa actually.
Really looking forward to this one.

This is actually the Hardest fight out there for Cotto. Harder then the Mayweather fight. I know tha tmost peole at this point don't feel that way. But none the less. If cotto comes through this fight the WW division is his ooyster.

Cotto will beat the dawg **** out of Marg, and as for Mayweather whenever he comes to realize that there are no where else to hide. Hed too will recieve the same treatment from Cotto. Mayweather is as light handed as Gomez and Cotto just walks through guys like that. It will be a brutal beating, Cotto will have a much tougher time against Marg.

    Looking forward to this.

Marg definately gives Cotto trouble style wise, but im leaning towards Cotto because he is something special, there is a big danger that Margo will out work Cotto and even hurt him, but I think Miguel has enough adaptibility to get the nod.

    Cotto pts - close!

    Cotto is the man.

Cleaning up the division, and fighting all the toughest at 47.

If he beats Margo, his resume at 147 is gonna be impressive as hell.

Sounds great. Berto is only a fight or two away from a title challange anyway so he should jump on the opportunity since he could fight for the vacant title right away.

In the meantime, Mayweather is semi-retired and fighting DLH in September, Cotto is of course fighting Margarito in July and we've got the Quintana-Williams rematch so both Clottey and Berto should force the IBF to make the fight ASAP since the other champs are busy.
