Which part? Does Margarito pose more of a KO threat to Cotto than Mayorga? Is he bigger and more durable (in an actual, and not p4p sense) than Mayorga?
Oh boy. You pick Margarito over DLH? I'll admit that as far as risk/reward goes, Margarito is as unattractive to Oscar as he is to Floyd, but in a parallel to that situation it has far more to do with Margarito's low reward than his high risk. :yep
And Mayorga was more reward cause he got destroyed by Tito after a long layoff? At this point I would pick AM over the part time boxer. I dont know why you have this unreasonable view of AM and Mayorga, either youre a hater or a nuthugger - pick one.
One limited fighter being overrated and sold as more than the solid B/B- gatekeeper he is and another equally (or, I'll admit, even more) limited fighter being underrated and sold short despite still being very dangerous at 147/154 - means that I have to be a hater or hugger?
theres a reason Tito and DLH chose Mayorga as comeback/showcase fights . . .theres a reason Fraud turned down 8 mil to face AM. theres a reason DLH would not even consider facing AM, even though he is a top 3 WW.
The Cotto/Margarito fight is the right fight that should happen. It is one step closer in dettermining who is the man at 147 which I think the majority wanted. I have nothing against Mayorga . . . but he should wait for the right time if he wants Cotto. I'll say a stupid worthless fight for Cotto . . . a very dangerous fight with nothing for him to gain.
This fight is going to take place is Las Vegas according to Bob Arum. What's funny is that Arum was able to force the Nevada State Athletic Commission to overrule their previous, health protective ruling about the glove size. Now Keizer says: "We found no evidence that an 8-ounce glove would be significantly less safe than a 10-ounce glove in those weight classes," - if they found no evidece why did change the rule in the first place? :huh There's nothing in Las Vegas that money can't buy...
According to Primera Hora, Team Cotto will sign the July 26 Margarito deal the next week. Cotto's father said they still want to discuss the PPV-share details (which is not an easy subject when the promoter is Bob Arum), and once they're finished, the fight will be ON!
I can, it is because he is a fat loud mouth with very little skill, or dedication to the sport. Who rabbit punches, is fans also talk about him as if he is the next big thing, when he looks like garbage they try to pass it off as a good performence. :good
awesome avatar i also think this fight for cotto is tougher then a maywather fight. and its becous of styles marg hase a style to give cotto problems, this is the fight every one should be looking forward to. i got cotto in a very close fight. maywather is so scared of cotto and margo he wont even watch the fight.
In the last few days a lot has happened. -Judah's injured, Mosley's looking for an opponent -it seems Team Cotto wants more than Arum currently offering and they want PPV share. But since the Cotto-Margarito doubleheader's ratings were stunningly low (lowest ever on HBO to be precise) and the July PPV might not surpass 150.000 buys, there's no room for Cotto's and Arum's big paycheck... this fight is just not as big money wise as in terms of excitement. So what if Arum realizes that Mosley is still the key for a huge PPV card and Cotto-Margarito just can't make good numbers enough to make Team Cotto, Team Margarito and Top Rank happy? :think
