does anyone else think Margarito will be Fighter of the Year. He beat cintron for the IBF, then beats Cotto for WBA and if he takes on the winner of Zab and Clottey and wins, thats THREE straight champs he will have defeated in one year! I dont think anyone is even close to touching Marg. Granted a third fight isnt in the cards yet.
Most probably he will . . . but it's too early to tell. There are still a lot of fights that will happen in 2008. By now he should be a front runner.
If he rematches Williams and beat him this time, no doubt he should be it. Regardless of other fighters' showing, that win would be enough to make him the FOTY.
If Mijares fights and dominates either Donaire or Montiel before the end of the year, then it should be him. But if he doesn't and Margarito ends up beating the winner of Clottey/Judah or Williams, then he would probably deserve it.
