That's not a call out though. To me a call out is talking junk about someone and trying to goad them into a fight or saying "I want to fight so and so" for the "such and such"

Dibella and co offered Margo a fight. A lot different than idle chatter.

I can see it being saved as a another option for Margarito if all goes bad and he loses a fight then they have this one to pick as a chance t boost back in the scene. They know how risky it is to take it right now especially after Margarito got one major win that could bring him some serious money as he deserves to get and have so they're POSSIBLY saving it for later. It's just up to the people to figure it out or believe the "Wait, you declined me before I am declining you now" utter bull****.

They did talk junk, they have been talking junk since Margarito beat Cotto up to this day, every single interview with or about Williams, Margarito's name is mentioned immediately with the offer they made. It's a combination of both here. Only difference is they have a career high payday offer to mention and Margarito doesn't when he mentions the days he called out Williams after his loss.

Which is why Williams' offer wasn't a call out but a legitimate offer. He offered Margo a fight and Margo and company turned it down for what we assumed was a Mosley fight. That was fine. Mosley isn't 100% there nowadays and he's definitely hitting the hard part of the slide however he's always a threat to anyone at WW+ much like Hopkins is to anyone above 168. Tough fighter with a decent payday, I could deal.

Now I don't think anyone knows WTF is going on.

I think Collazo will give him a tougher nights work than Mosley at this stage, I didnt likehis last performance where he was losing rounds on simple aggression alone, Margo is a much more effective aggression than Mayrga and I think he beats the **** out of Mosley before stopping him.

Clottey is a better fight than Collazo being a rival champ, but this fight could be bigger in 18 months time if Clottey keeps his belt. Isnt Williams going to light middleweight where he belongs...?

I think Callazo is a fair defence considerig he has gone in with Cintron and Cotto, he could make is a Puerto Ricans hatrick...Definately a fight that could be sold imo.

Don't think he turned it down for a Mosley fight, he turned it down far before Mosley was even mentioned, Mosley was seriously considered when he beat Mayorga, hence Margarito's presence in the crowd that night.

He turned it down claiming Williams needs to "wait" as he made him wait.

Mosley-Margo has been one of those -nudge nudge wink wink- in talks fights since about early August. It's one of those "We don't want to say it's official but..." deals. Mosley was calling out Margarito back in August-ish.

I don't think Collazo is puerto rican or at least we like to pretend he doesn't exist. Sorta like John Ruiz.

Margo is the Tijuana Chicken. first he ducks Clottey, then Paul, now Shane. Does the guy have an ounce of pride? ::tong

I'm glad even Margo fans are admitting that Tony is ruining his career.

This whole **** with the welterweights started with Floyd. Then Oscar wanted to get into the mix and put everyone on hold to see who he wanted to fight. This is just echoes from those two fighters. Marg is acting like a baby to get the hoya fight.

He already beat Clottey, the Shane fight is really a meaningless fight for Tony, shane looked awful in his last fight against the much SLOWER much Wider Mayorga.
The Paul Williams fight you all have a point, but since Paul is moving up Tony doesnt have that option neither. yes this looks bad but honestly Margarito beating up Mosley isnt going to do anything for his career seriously it wont, Mosley is old and doesnt even have it in him to throw more than two shots no and days, against a guy like Tony he will get murdered.

    I know what you mean.

Personally I think Mosely should just go away though. He is way past prime and the last thing we need now is another big name dinosaur hanging around sucking the top dogs in the division into big money, rlatively meaningless fights. Ond day soon Mosely is going to start losing and i hope he doesnt sully his name by staying around too long and being gloss on the resume of the new generation.

    Urrrrgh.

    I really doubt that.
If Floyd came back it'd be for Oscar, Hatton, or Pacman.
He wouldn't come back for no two million earning Margarito.
