anyone who has ever had their hands wrapped by a trainer or coach before a fight knows, beyond any doubt, if there was even a slight variation in weight or texture in the gauze pad folded, laid over the knuckles and then taped over. freddie roach was a pro fighter for several years. i cannot imagine that he, of all people, could buy such an excuse. i think that margarito's emotional fits are a function of shame and guilt...recognizing the atrocity of his bad decisions and having no recourse but to hang his head in shame and slink away from the game. he will say anything to get another chance to do the right thing or whatever. i am sure he believes he was manipulated by his team and wants nothing more than another go on the straight and narrow, but, he has to accept that even legitimate victories will seem tainted after this point because of the blatant, dangerous nature of the cheating and the wall of silence, secrecy and denial from he and his team, even when presented with evidence that demanded a response, if not an admission of guilt.
What a load of crap...This has Arum's prints all over it...Arum knows that Roach is seen as a stand up guy by boxing fans, although his rep inside boxing isnt that clean...So Arum gets Roach, a guy that had already bashed Margo in plaster-gate, now change his story and works that oh we should feel sorry for the ****er show. **** that, ban his ass........FOR GOOD
for me it does not matter whether margarito knew or not. Either way he has to be found guilty of wrongdoing. Its like athletes that test postive for juicing. Some may not know the supplements being fed to them were not legal but it doesnt change the fact they get found positive and you cant let someone off just cos they claim not to of known.
Freddie's a nice little guy and a very good trainer. But he's not playing with a full deck, and sometimes it slips out.
