I was reading an article where former champion Carlos Palomino states that if Pacquiao fights a healthy not weight drained Margarito, there would be no way Pacquiao could hurt Margarito.......

......this coming from Palomino who has heavily criticized the Texas commision for even granting Margarito a license......

Something in that article makes me come to thinking.
Is Margarito severely struggling to come down in weight, and if so, how badly will he be weakened to have a legitamate chance to pull an upset?

Palmomino in that article states that he was watching 24/7 and the camera depicted Margarito well before the fight weighing 154 lbs (reminicent of the cameras on 24/7 catching DLH well in advance at or very near the welter limit)

According to Palomino, Margarito well in advance weighing 154 lbs, his body is so cut up it looks like he does'nt have a single ounce left to lose......
Margarito will be severely weakened and have nothing for the fight that he will become a punching bag just like DLH and Cotto was.

Here's the link to the quotes by Palomino......

I hope Carlos Palomino is wrong about this, but it surely is making one wonder as to Margarito's chances if he has to dehydrate to severely to make 150 lbs.....

Here's a picture of Margarito this morning with still over 30 hrs to go to the weighin, his face is looking gaunt, the effects of dehydration......

What does the forum think, is Margarito struggling to make weight, and if so will it effect him to the point it will hinder his ability to be effective?

Just want serious thoughts on this subject by the forum and not any type of cheerleading or hating from either side of the rooting spectrum.

It will be the "cookie cutter" excuse for why PAC wins.:smoke EVERYONE is weight drained, shot, old, or distracted......even FIXED!:rofl Some folks who don't like PAC feel all of the above!:rofl But at the end of the day the majority know the deal. PAC's a great fighetr and he's won the fights with his dedication to preparing for his opponents like no one else does. he sacrafices in camp and comes out on top.

Marg's not weight drained....DLH wasn't and neighter was cotto.

the guy has fought at 147 for as long as I can remember. He's always been a workhorse in the gym. Why would he struggle to make 154?

It's a valid concern. Margo was struggling to make 147, was forced to sit out for a year, and then came back at 154. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had to struggle to get down to 150.

Is that really a pic of him for this fight? I figured that would look more like he would at 147..... I cant believe he CANT make 150 healthily after all the work hes put in. Nah, I think he will be fine, that pic though is worrying, but it will all be revealed come the weigh in.

Nah.....there havn't been any reports of Tony struggling to make 147 until the PAC fight was on the table. Befroe his fight with Citron, Williams, Clottley, Cotto and Shane there were NO reports or statements about having trouble making weight. Based on what Marg and his camp have said, they've all said he's making weight fine and they feel 150 will be a benefit for them.

He does look a little bit drawn but that dont automatically mean he is finding it a real struggle for the weight.People can look gaunt in the face if they have been in intense training for several weeks. They have known the weight is 150 from the start and Margo made welter for long enough,I dont see why making the set limit would be a big issue for him.I just think he has worked very hard for this fight, done all the diet thing properly etc. Some will say he looks gaunt but you could also say he looks ready to fight.

You are incorrect. There were several reports about him struggling to make 147 against Mosley.

Perhaps. He's probably starving himself to the point where his hands were shaking. Rios is probably on the same diet.
