He'll make it and take a beating. I got no sympathy. He should have known what he's getting himself into, because Pac's people love catch-weights. When you give fighters the best pay day of their career, they probably are not most concerned about being at their best, but getting that money.

so pac can also use "i am too small" should he loses this saturday?

they agreed to the catchweight, so there should be no excuses.

I dnt think he'll have a problem with the weight...then again I also don't think he stands a chance of winning

    Exactly.

People are acting as though Margarito is revisiting a weight after so many years. He's only had one fight above 147. So going to 150 won't be bad at all. The dude already looks in great shape.

you know what, 150 is the perfect weight for Margarito. It forces him to train hard, but at the same time it's not too draining.

At 154 in his last fight he looked a little soft.

As for being light well in advance, it seemed to work pretty well for Glen Johnson. Oscar was drained but people take that out of proportion. The main problem with Oscar was not the weight but rather his opponent.

Either Pacquaio's lack of size or Margarito being weight drained are bull**** excuses. If you sign the contract then you're happy to fight under the stipulations. If you don't like it, don't fight.

If that standard applies here then I guess you think the excuses of Oscar being weight drained at 147 were bull****?

Pac was coming up 2 weight divisions. Oscar was coming down 1. Every man and his dog thought Pac had no chance. I, on the other hand, knew Oscar would kill himself to make weight, and almost won a fortune betting Pac would knock him out from round 9+ (1 round out dammit!), but Oscar knew the risks involved, just as Pac did. Yes the weight affected Oscar, but then again it was Pacquiao's first fight out of lightweight. Had Oscar made the weight okay he could have brutalised Pac. But **** happens.

Of course it mattered, but using it to degrade Pacquaio's win is idiocy. Just as it will be if Margarito is weight drained in this fight coming.

just caught up on HBO's 24/7.... wow, Margo's body is plain freaky! Hope he doesnt have weight problems though he looked very lean and very shredded at 158. I dont know how he got down to 147 for pete's sake. Hopefully he's not doing any hardcore weight training or that may keep him from losing the weight needed....

Didnt know he got Robert Garcia as a trainer. Saw him getting on top of margo for not using his reach lol - whats new? He's a natural brawler...
Just hope he doesnt come in drained for pushing that last pound so there is a good fight from both of them. The size disparity will be scary looking in the ring...

That doesn't mean anything. He had issues with weight vs Mosley right? You get to a point you just can't make a certain weight.

This is why catch-weights for Dapidran are stupid. He will win with or without the catch-weight, so they should just fight at the limit so it doesn't take away from his win.

So it matters, but we shouldn't mention it?

I'm not trying to be a dick just trying to understand where you're coming from with this.

    Man, of course it's true.

If Margarito was allowed to weigh in at 154, and there were no rehydration clauses (there probably will be) he'd come into the ring at 170 pounds like Oscar did with Mayweather.

Putting the weight down to 150, he won't be able to put on 20 pounds. You'll maybe limit him to about 164. And if there are clauses, it will probably be down again to 155-160.

Man, the truth is, Pacquiaos fighting a welterweight, 3 pounds up, as it's a way of winning a 8th belt, without having to risk having to face a guy 22 pounds heavier than him in ring, like Floyd had to.

Pacquiao fights Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez there, they'd both be 170 pounds in ring,
