Boxer Sues: I Was Never Plastered

Antonio Margarito, the former WBA welterweight champ, is suing the California State Athletic Commission, claiming he was unjustly suspended for allegedly hiding plaster in the knuckle pad under his gloves in his fight against "Sugar" Shane Mosley.

On January 24, 2009, Margarito was preparing to fight Mosley -- his trainer was wrapping his hands when a rep from the Athletic Commission decided to inspect his hands, allegedly finding an "illegal material inside the knuckle pad." The knuckle pads were confiscated and his hands were re-wrapped.

Margarito then fought Mosely and got his ass kicked. But the unkindest cut of all -- after the fight, his boxing license was suspended for one year. He feels he's been denied due process and wants his license back.

He's suing to get a court order forcing the Commission to reinstate him, stat.

Its his attorneys that are instigating this action....Margie is guilty and he knows it....its an intimidation tactic for the CSAC to take the lesser and reinstate him.....Margie's team thinking with that he will be exonerated because the CSAC folded.

I hope they stand firm....I know the prosecutor who is a woman has some big balls and will fight this...
Guilty *******....his shame has no boundaries!!!!

What does he expect to get from this? He already is guilty.

He should quit while he is behind. He could've ended up in jail.

I think any boxer that is found guilty of something like this should be charged for attempted murder, or at the very least with assault with intent to do bodily harm. Trust me, I speak from experience, wrapped and gloved fists are hard enough and do enough damage without some type of foreign material in the hand wraps. Look at Freddie Roach or Muhammed Ali or many, too many.. others if you need proof. This ******* should've gotten a lifetime ban. I don't care what Cotto says, and it's a testament to his sportsmanship that he didn't bash Magarito more than he did, but this has forever tainted his defeat of Miguel Cotto prior to the Mosley fight in my mind. I wouldn't pay to watch this guy fight a grizzly bear.

i read that the levels of calcium on the gauzes where so low thats the reason the comission took so long to give the verdict
