What a year it was for MARGARITO in 08..It was so so for MOSLEY..even tho his fight with Nicaraguan RICARDO MAYORGA was entertaining, it was still a bit of a struggle for MOSLEY...One thing about SHANE is that for some reason, the name "SUGAR" keeps giving me the impression, even after over a decade, I keep thinking that MOSLEY is a smooth mobile boxer jabber like LEONARD and ROBINSON..but MOSLEY is actually a fighter first...In alot of mOSLEY'S big fights, he tends to try to excite the fans by going toe to toe and it costed him a couple of times...against WRIGHT and FORREST especially...who are also alot taller than MOSLEY might I add, like MARGARITO.. basically, MOSLEY will brawl in spurts ...you see, COTTO gave us the formula to beat MARGARITO as the shorter man wich is to move, flurry , move, box , move...and its not hard to feagure out how to beat MARGARITO, the problem is if your conditioned well enough to run and outbox a big concrete chinned puncher with the ambition of the terminator and if you can take the punch yourself...MARGARITO is like a welterweight ANDRADE, just keep on coming, coming , coming, coming, till you fold...and if MARGARITO can break down a very proud COTTO, imagine someone who's been broken down a couple times himself like MOSLEY... this fight will very well resemble the COTTO / MARGARITO fight but the only difference is this, I can see MOSLEY drop MARGARITO for some reason...but that will give him enough confidence to try to trade with MARGARITO seeing how easy it is to catch him, wich is a common misconception with MARGARITO opponents...eventually, like in round 7, MARGARITO will begin to hurt MOSLEY and slow him down...remember that this isnt young sweat SUGAR SHANE, hes in his late 30's and I think he'll begin to mentally break by round 9 and loose rounds 10, 11, 12 clearly...with MARGARITO getting a late stoppage in the last round....this will turn from a boxer vs. pucher brawl, into a war of wills, which MARGARITO will ultimately capitalize on....MARGARITO TKO 12
I think this will goto the scorecards, I cant see anybody being stopped, I give Mosley alot more credit than that. Margarito is not stopping Mosley, it will be a Split decision and a lot closer than people think and I am a Margarito fan. Mosley's speed will be his weapon and for the 1st 3 or 4 rounds it will be Mosley but he will be eating some bodyshots in the process and by the 7th round I think that is when we will start to see a different fight. If Margarito is open for uppercuts Mosley might find success with that punch but he will pay for everytime he comes in to fire at Margarito, I think Margo will be totally zoned in for this one. He is so determined and nothing will break his will at this point in time. Mosley will start to get tired early and it will be goodnight vienna after the 4th round. He would have burnt out and Margo will eat his body up for the next 8 rounds and I think it will be competitive all the way to the final bell... Margarito winning 116-112
Forget about the head shot's, Tony's body work is the foundation of his style. Margarito don't have the "1" punch K.O. power, But you don't need that against Mosley. Shane will be there right in Margarito's face, From 1-12 (If it goes that long). Both fighter's are looking at a VERY long night if they decide to let either one take any type of momentum early. I just wonder how a 37 yr old Shane holds up to a constant Body & head attack? & I don't expect Mosley to become W. Pep over night either, He will be there.
Whats he going to KO Mosley with? I don't think that will happen....actually I believe there is a better chance of Mosley KO Margie.
