NYC sure has alot of Puerto Ricans but are you seriously telling me that southern California won't show their support for a Margarito-Mosley fight?

Two things people care about. 1. If they know the guy. 2. If the matchup is attractive.

Margarito is becoming a name whether the haters want to admit it or not. 450k buys for the Cotto fight wasn't just Cotto fans buying it. And Mosley, while not the same fighter, is still a recognizeable name. The fight would have done well despite the present economy.

Maybe not 450k but that's irrelevant right now. It certainly wouldn't be half that. Maybe in the 300s. That still doesn't mean 2 million to the champ is not a lowball offer. Do the math.

Cotto-Mosley drew about 400k buys so you need to look into that.

Not DLH numbers but a damn sight better than getting 2 million dollars (which is what Cotto got). Mosley and GBP are lowballin. Get with the program.

I think you misread my post. I said that Shane vs Margo would be huge in SoCal, bigger then Cotto vs Margo would be in NYC.

That did well because of Cotto. Go look up past numbers.

Margos only time on PPV was 30k failure.

    30K?????
Honestly, I think if I were to have a fight against my gf and co-promoted it myself I could do at least 30K!

That's because he was fighting Manuel Gomez.

I don't care who it is, aside from DLH or Tyson nobody puts up big numbers against a journeyman.

If that's true then that's pretty pitiful. In his defence though had the Margarito/PTP fight been on PPV it would have done better than 30k.

Thats becuase if you look hard enough you will always find about half a million morons in the world, Floyd found them that night. The numbers did well but the seats were half if not two thirds empty before the tenth round.
