Margarito turns down Shane Mosley fight.

I don't know if that is what doesn't transpire in my previous words - Margarito doesn't want to lose future rewards in taking more significant risks at this point. He could take huge risks when it was 4 all or nothing, now he has something he doesn't want to lose and that is the right to earn reasonable to excellent paydays and secure his future as a future ex-fighter.

 

When it comes down to it, Margarito is in boxing (at least partly) for the money. He's no different than the other boxers at the top of their game. His fans and haters just have to accept that.

 

He made 1 million fighting Cotto the first time and that was his career high payday, another career high payday in 2 million is NOT peanuts for someone like Margarito who hasn't seen such offers before and not even close. As a matter of fact he might make the same amount or even less fighting Cotto in a rematch.

By the way, Williams' offer to rematch is no peanuts and everyone agrees with it, does Margarito? :deal

 

talk about karma. Floyd turns him down, he builds his name off of that and when he finally hits the spotlight, he's a no show for many lucrative fights... At first I thought it was good for Boxing that Margo beat Cotto, but I think we would have been much better off had Cotto won their fight, Unfortunately this is real life and things don't always go the best way.

 

Hey dumbass this isnt about Floyd. Your hero is running scared and wont fight anyone that isnt names Oscar or Cotto...He is looking for easy paydays. And here you are bring up Floyd as if that somehow excuses Margo for punking out of fights...The difference between Margo and floyd is two fold..One Floyd was fighting for more money...Two he has always said he was in boxing to get paid...

Turns down 2 Mil to fight an old Mosley. I just lost alot of respect for him. I really hope Cotto KO's him in the 2nd fight.

And Sugar Shane, even as an old fighter is going after the best in the biz, I guess these guys are still scared of him, even as much as he has deteriorated.

Yes, when Margarito was ringside and saw a shot Mayorga ahead on one of the judges scorecards into the 12th against Shane, he immediately said now there's a fighter I need to fear. Margo and his camp know most are calling it a mismatch and he'll get no credit for beating Shane. The cool 2 million and the first to possibly be the one to stop Shane though should have Margo strongly considering the fight to keep his skills sharp as he's better when he's busy. Who else is there at 147? Clottey- who the hell wants to see that. Margo was below par and he still took Clottey's heart in that fight.

 

Not to mention Floyd fought the best at his natural weight.

 

Honestly 2 Million dollars is disrespectful to a fighter who has fought like a man and faced all the threats at 147, they can pay that ***** ass Floyd 8 Million to fight Baldimor, and not throw peanuts at Tony, get ****ing real.

Tony is doing the right thing, not just in terms of business but in terms of having some self respect.
