I hope it's true. I would like to see a link, but maybe this is true. Good news if it is.

I've asked this question a million times myself. Believe me I'm of that belief. If there's something we're missing and he knows it then this whole thing is a moot discussion. I mean if five months from now we find out Arum had paid hush money to cover up the fact that he cheated going as far back as the Sebastian Lujan fight, that's different.

See that's the thing, I'm not proclaiming Margarito's innocence. Guy ****ing cheated, got caught and was dealt a punishment. The problem was that either the punishment didn't fit the crime or the punishment is so poorly contructed that it leaves open this continuous problem of once a year having to revisit an issue that should be dead and done with.

As per the license revocation, we've seen people who've done worse than POTENTIALLY cheat (and I have my doubts he got caught on his first try but facts are facts) get their licenses. I mean let's look at Holyfield. He got his license in Texas at 46 years old coming off multiple losses with significant ties to the big HGH bust that happened a few years back, potential brain trauma and the fact that one could argue his headbutt is as lethal as a slegehammer (which is extremely dangerous in its own right...look at Rahman's fuggin head ) and he got his license.

It seems there's NO sort of actual guidelines for both reinstatement and revocation.

Previously used when? In training? Or can you prove it was in previous fights?

Maybe he used it in training to see the effect on a punchbag or one of his sparringpartners... That doesn't make his case better at all!

    Attempted murder

Yes, boxing is a lethal sport but are you really suggesting he tried to murder his opponent? Boxing can be fatal in any fight and whilst illegal wraps make it more likely to cause injury, that doesn't mean he meant to kill.

The picture after the Cotto fight proves nothing at all. I've seen that many times. The only person who suggested it was Jim Lampley. Everyone else knows it was probably nothing.

Regardless, I'm playing Devils Advocate and the fact is, you can never prove Margarito cheated.

It does when discussing legal ramifications. If he used it on a punching bag, you can't say he used it on a live being. If he used it on a sparring partner? You have more than enough to push for criminal charges.

Thats true aswell. Maybe he used them to test the hardness or even compact it to make it harder?

The only problem is though...we don't know. Therefore, no matter what suspicions we have, you can't ban a guy based on those suspicions.

Eh? Where did that come from?

And, yes, you can go to jail for conspiracy, which is why Margarito was punished for getting caught. But there's no reason for further punishment.

Taking a test? You are one freaky multitasker. Anyway, ignorance of the crime may not be an excuse, but it certainly is a mitigating factor when determining a sentence. I think you are operating under the assumption that he will never get his license back. I think he will. It just may not be now.

My issue is that a lot of people are discussing this as though he was in fact proven to have used loaded gloves in a real live fight. That hasn't been proven and nothing has changed to suggest that he has.

IF the commission has evidence that he USED them in a fight, he should be suspended for life. IF they feel he had willing INTENT to use them, he should be suspended for life. If they can't prove the first OR the second, a 1 year suspension should suffice.

Don't basically put your balls on both sides of the fence. "We think he should be suspended for life but don't want to commit to that hence a one year punishment with no conceivable end in sight is how we feel."

Boxing is a joke because they don't ever stand firm on decisions, kind of like this one.

Or if he does deserve it, why they didn't ****ing make up their minds on that when the case was ongoing.
