This was a clear Margarito win. Clottey fought hard and desperately, but he was overwhelmed.

YOu can say he could have won if not of his njury, but that is why we have a fight called rematch.

    Round 1 - 10 - 9 Clottey ( Jabs, combo and str8 right, Tony slow getting off)
    Round 2 - 10 - 9 Clottey ( Uppercut, combo, str8 right)
    Round 3 - 10 - 9 Clottey ( Right hands)
    Round 4 - 10 - 9 Clottey ( Hard shots - right hands)
    Round 5 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( One-twos, uppercuts, Cottey on the ropes)
    Round 6 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( Jabs, str8 scoring rights, Clottey jabless)
Round 7 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( Volume of punches Margo, nice counters Clottey)
    Round 8 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( More jabs, body work against Clottey's left hooks)
    Round 9 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( Barrage from Margo, Clottey holding n cornered)
    Round 10 - 10 - 10 Even ( a lot of movement, circling and some jabs)
    Round 11 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( Just too much activity from Margo)
Round 12 - 10 - 9 Margarito ( Margarito jabs and Clottey comes very late in the round)

Margarito 116-113 - Wins due to overall activity - higher volume of punches, jabbing consistency and aggressiveness, doesn't prove to have been the stronger man but Clottey drops activity significantly from round 4 and comes short to claim a world title in doing so.

Bumping this old thread as I finally scored it after re-watching it.

    Clottey: 1-4, 10
    Margarito: 5-7, 9, 11-12
    Even: 8

    Margarito 115-114

I thought rounds 8, 10, and 12 were all pretty close rounds.

Watching it live i scored it for clottey but im going to watch it again , ppl have to consider that only landed punches should count , not thrown ,and what i remember the most from this fight is how margarito couldnt get thru clotteys guard all night , also Joshua did show impressive body resistance as margarito was pounding him there very often and the african didnt even blink.
