Margarito vs Cotto 2 on June 2009!!!

Yesterday Bob Arum gave an interview with P.R. local newspaper Primera Hora , he said that Cotto and Margarito are going to fight in early 2009 against different opponents, Cotto will fight a comeback fight in P.R. while Margarito will fight in L.A., if they both came victorious they will rematch on June.

La empresa promotora Top Rank está cocinando una segunda pelea entre Miguel Cotto y Antonio Margarito, tentativamente para junio de 2009.
Así lo reveló ayer el promotor Bob Arum en entrevista telefónica con PRIMERA HORA.
“Miguel estará peleando a principios del 2009 en Puerto Rico al igual que Margarito. Si ambos salen bien de sus respectivos compromisos, estaríamos hablando de una revancha entre ellos para el verano próximo”, indicó Arum desde sus oficinas en Las Vegas.
El pasado 26 de julio, Cotto sufrió su primera derrota a nivel profesional cuando fue vencido por Margarito vía nocaut técnico en el duodécimo asalto.
El plan de Arum es que Cotto y Margarito hagan combates la misma noche en ciudades diferentes,
“Mientras Cotto está peleando en Puerto Rico, Margarito haría lo propio en Los Ángeles. Luego, si ambos salen ilesos, se hace la revancha en junio. Es posible que sea en Nueva York, Las Vegas o Atlantic City”, agregó Arum.
El promotor indicó además, que buscará oponentes de calidad, pero que no representen un peligro inminente para ambos de sus protegidos.
Desde su revés, el criollo ha estado alejado del gimnasio, mientras se aclara el panorama en torno a su futuro en el boxeo.

Por otro lado, Arum confirmó que Juan Manuel “Juanma” López será incluido en el programa de Oscar de la Hoya-Manny Pacquiao el 6 de diciembre en el MGM Grand de Las Vegas.
“Si sale sin lesiones de su primera defensa en octubre, definitivamente estaría peleando en diciembre”, concluyó.

 

Im a Rican and a Cotto fan , but even though i give Miguel his props for going to the rematch, the more that i think about it the more that i think that Cotto shouldnt take it, Why? well its a fight that can end his career and i dont know maybe if theey fight 20 times Margarito will beat him 20 times, and Cotto has other choises like Clottey, Williams and many others, maybe he can beat all the others but not Margarito.

well i dont know anything can happen thats for sure but Cotto has almost a perfect fight thru 6 in my eyes and many others but you got to remember that Margarito wasn't on his full strike so to speak until the 7 when he started to go full blast, maybe im just going overboard but I would love to see Cotto win
