Margarito vs Cotto: THE real ANALYSIS....AKA SUCKER FREE

It will be a total slugfest . . . with both fighters giving and receiving. The first fighter who melts down and gets hurt loses this fight. :yep

I really like both fighters but . . . I'm rooting for Cotto.

 

Cotto isn't going to need to work the jab to get inside, Margarito is the guy who will be following him, being the big guy trying to get inside.. I know it sounds wrong, but Margarito fights from the inside in this one which is very odd considering how good Cotto is inside.. But Margo's best shot is to force Cotto to trade from very close range, it really is his only shot and he likely wont get the best of the exchanges, his best bet is to be more durable than Cotto and win some exchanges on the inside.

Cotto isn't going to need to look for countering opportunities, they will be there for him all night.. The taller, longer Margarito doesn't know how to pump a jab and fight as a tall fighter, he doesn't have very good balance and is extremely easy to counter. Cotto needs to pump his own jab in Margo's face and stay moving.. Pick his shots and land heavy body punches that he can set up off of lead right hands from Margarito walking straight ****ing in.

I can see Cotto using lateral movements and staying mid range out of Margo's comfort zone, picking him appart with jabs, crosses and finishing up with left hooks to the body at will.. Margo really has no defense and is helpless everywhere other than nose to nose. Well, not helpless, but ineffective.. He is sort of lanky, has a big reach, but he doesn't use it. He has a beard, a body attack and an inside game from hell, but he doesn't close especially fast and is goofy on his feet. Cotto is going to eat him alive, this will be painful to watch for Margo fans.. Mark my words. Margo is going to have his durability put to a serious test and is going to take a careers worth of punishment to get few opportunities to even trade.

 

I gotta say this fight seems almost a 50/50...i mean they seem to fit each other like a glove and looks to be a classic rough fight however if only one really can change that by boxing and if Cotto does that and not tire he should win comfortable but if he chooses otherwise well we may see a KO for either fighter cus their capable of it....and if thats the case i lean towards mago just cus im not sold on MC's chin yet.

 

i think miguel cotto,slowly will bust up margarito,in atough fight.
margarito is a tough guy,he can take some shots.and maybe marg. is the man who lands the most.but cotto lands the most effective,and after round 8,cotto will start wearing margarito down.and win by tko round 10.

 

I just think the difference in class will show in this fight. Cotto is going to be first on most of the exchanges because of his superior hand speed. I mean Cotto was matching jabs with Judah and Mosley and they have two of the fastest hands in the sport. The only way i envision Cotto losing is if he tries to show his toughness and fights Marg on the inside without boxing him.
