If Margo beats does he move above Oscar as a Welterweight based on the following:

Oscars best win at Welter was Ike Quartey. He lost to Mosley Trinidad.

Did oscar ever beat an Elite fighter? was Quartey really Elite?

in the all time standings there is no dispute about Oscars position he far exceeds Antonio's, I am just talking about Welterweight.

    Your opinions please

Plus Oscar was ripped off against Trinidad - and it could be said that he won both fights against Mosley

Sure, if the fight ended after 8 rounds.

Quartey was a top fighter. Inactive going into the DLH bout though.

While the Whitaker and Quartey wins were controversial, so was DLH's loss to Trinidad.

DLH was the superior welterweight and a late 90s/early 00s DLH would be a solid favorite over a peak version of Margarito.

Oscar is too old to deal with that kind of work rate and power, as it has been said by many Floyd fans, Oscar can not deal with a high work rate. Oscar fades down the strech etc.. and fading against Tony equals a for sure death.

Margarito is going to have to score big on saturday and get revenge on Paul Williams. And maybe even rematch Clottey to show the world who is the better welter. If he does that then he surpasses DLH in my eyes. Cotto, Clottey 2x and a win over Williams will look better than wins over Vargas and Quartey.

It all comes down to the rematches really. That is where DLH's resume kinda falls apart.

The Vargas win, and Mosley rematch, were at 154.

True but I think it's fair to look at both 147 and 154 as a whole. Not many of those guys jump to 160 and hold their own. And most of them fought at 147 anyhow.

He lost the first fight to Mosley, most feel he won the rematch. He clearly beat Trinidad and was robbed. And yes, Quartey was elite, though he actually arguably got a gift in that one. Was very close though. Oscar also arguably got a gift against Pea, but arguably won as well.

Either way, regardless of how you scored those fights, he still holds a very clear edge over Margarito.
