Margarito vs Jones - Disgrace

    Absolute disgrace to boxing. The fix was in from round 1 in one of the most blatant set ups I've ever seen. No wonder people say boxing is dead, utter shambles to try and get a dead career revived and make some quick cash, genuinely feel sorry for Jones. That decision was infuriating.

    Margarito beat the hell out of El Pollo's brother, in this fight Margarito was beating Jones, but Jones was a dirty fighter, he headbutted on purpose...............Margarito deseved the win, plus Jones was deducted a point for the headbutt.......................

    He called out Miguel Cotto and hopefully Margarito gets his wish. I don't mind watching two washed up guys go straight it. It's like reliving the glory days.
    The rubber match is only right.

    He quit, his eye was not a concern for him, he was getting bashed up and new he wouldn't last much longer, Hey doc i can't see!

    I listened to your rant about this yesterday on YT, you're pretty good, although I disagree with you on this one.

    The injury was clearly caused by a headclash, Carson targeted the eye after than, was reckless as all hell, headbutted him several more times, he pounded away on the eye in the 7th, at that point Margarito's eye was shot again, he couldn't defend on his right side, you can tell he can't see them coming therefore he was compromised by an njury Jones caused, he said he couldn't see, if you watch the 7th, he's not lying, so the doctor did the right thing and stopped the fight, and it went to the scorecards, because that's what happens when an injury is caused by a headclash and the fight has to be stopped, and guess what, he hadn't done quite enough to definitively beat Margarito on points at the time, so tough ****, that's boxing, get over it. Maybe if the a-hole wasn't so goddamn bound and determined to further injure Margarito's ****ed up eye maybe Margarito could have lasted a few more rounds and be stopped legitimately, but oh well, Carson wanted to play rough, so he paid for it, cry me a ****ing river.

    A few other points, after the ref warned Jones a few times about headbutts and when you include the more than obvious one that caused the cut over Tony's eye, the point deduction was justified, the bell ringing 20 seconds too early was probably based on confusion, that round IIRC both Jones and Margarito needed to have their tape fixed, its understandable, and Margarito wasn't in trouble and didn't need saving yet in that one. The only fishy thing that happened was the time of the stoppage, but like I said earlier Tony was clearly having a hard time seeing the punches from the right coming, which probably means he was telling the truth when he told the doctors he was having a hard time seeing out of his very publically well known horrifically injured eye. That fact that the doctor let the match continue knowing his history with that eye that long, actually shocked me. The scorecards were a bit wide, but it was close, and Marrgarito being ahead is a fair score.

    STFU, marg was taking a beating. Marg was truly competitive for 3, marg biggest guzzeller CL couldn't even claim more than 4 competitive rounds for marg.

    From the 5th on it was a mismatch beat down. Marg only survived because round 5 or 6 was cut short 20+ seconds. Marg was done and getting beaten like a rag doll.

    The 7th I started to pitty marg and every single person that watched knew for a fact marg could NOT make it 10 rounds, hell, marg never could make it through round 8.

    Jones even with that bs point deduction was up 2 maybe even 3 pints. That's being very generous to marg. If you truly believe marg was even through 7 you're worse than any troll I've come across on here.

    Not even CL could claim marg was "winning". I guess in Mexico, surviving is winning

    Cotto doesn't look as if he's lost as much stamina and snap to his punches since their last bout as Margarito does.
