Interesting fight. Lujan "looks" like Cotto, just sloppier. It appeared as if Lujans style bothered Margarito early on and Margarito actually seemed a bit tentative and even perhaps nervous in the opening round. It seems he began to catch a rhythm and look like himself at around the 5th round, and from there on, it was downhill for Lujan. In the 9th round thru 10th, where the video picks up, Margarito began to really lay it on him... good stoppage. From watching Margarito quite a few times, I can say he is definitely a rhythm fighter. The more punches he throws, the more he begins to get into his rhythm. He begins to get more and more accurate as his fights wear on, and the more he throws, eventually the more he lands. The question, what will Cotto do to nuetralize his volume of punches? PW's answer was to get off first and throw more punches. he, too though, had to pay as the fight wore on, although he had the reach advantage. Pay attention to the comments about Lujan's ear at the 6 min mark. Funny stuff.

Physically they do look alot alike, but their styles and physical capability are very different. Cotto is obviously a better technician offensively, and Lujan has a much better chin, defense, and Lujan is naturally more explosive with faster feet and more athleticism. Lujan has very good head and body movement from the waist up, he's very hard to hit. Cotto ain't. Cotto is a far more intelligent and cautious fighter overall though.
What rubbish. How the hell did you conclude that Lujan is better defensively, more exploisve and faster and more athletic. Mind boggling. It would be like me saying that Cesar Bazan is a stronger more tenacious version of Margarito, just because Cotto already beat him and they have a similar style (Lujan and Cotto aren't even that similar). Nuthugging at its finest.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, MSTR. Easy on the accusations of nuthugging, mate. You are a huge Cotto fan and you're speaking as a Cotto fan right now. I challenge you to watch the Lujan fight and tell me I'm wrong about even one of those things. Watch the damn fight though, before you start in with the jabber.
:yep Cotto is proven at the world class level and Lujan isn't. That should tell you something right there about the two.
Cotto is a better fighter overall, clearly. That has nothing to do with faster feet, greater athleticism, and better head movement and defense. Nothing.
Mirror image is a little far stretch. Maybe he looks and fights a little like Cotto. We can call him (Lujan) the poor man's Cotto.
I watched the whole fight the other day. Lujan is a basic pressure fighter. Not an elite fighter like Cotto. Sloppier defensively, and all around technically. Wings his punches more, and isn't as fast or as tight with his combination punching. Doesn't have a sharp jab like Cotto, and doesn't possess the balance that Cotto does, giving him less power on his punches. He doesn't have the same level of skill in his overall movement and ring generalmanship either. Cotto is also the vasly superior boxer puncher, where as Lujan is quite limited in this regard. A bad comparison, due IMO to nuthugging Marg. Take it or leave it.
