Martinez said right now is not a good idea for Margarito to step inside the ring with him, esp. health wise

 

Let Cotto beat him to a pulp first then give him to Martinez and then give him to Vitali after.

 

Martinez has nothing to prove here unless he wants a payday

I dont think Gonz is asking whos going to win because that ones a gimme, but it would make Sergio some mulah and big money fight that he be needs. Few actually give Margo a chance the fight would erase any doubts. I dont think Sergio has time to play nice guy he needs to clean house at 154-160 to welcome Floyd and Manny into his divisions. He needs to follow in Hagler and Monzons footsteps.

 

And since when is Margo a big money fighter?

I think Margarito is going downhill pretty quickly and Cotto, who I think has more left, will beat him in a good fight. But, if Margarito were to beat Cotto than I wouldn't be shocked to see a rematch with Martinez. I personally wouldn't be crazy about the fight but Margarito has a bigger name than most of the middleweights out there. If Margarito upsets Cotto I think a rematch with Williams makes more sense but I don't think he gets by Cotto.

I think after Cotto beats him Margarito becomes a stepping stone for young guys moving up. He's clearly declining and carries some name value and Arum will throw him to the wolves for the remainder of his career. Anyone with a rising young middleweight or jr middleweight looking to put their guy in with a faded veteran who can draw a crowd and give you some rounds will look at Margarito.

 

yea, don't see the relevance of a third Hopkins-Taylor fight, but if you can't see the relevance of a Khan-Prescott rematch then you should just stop watching boxing atsch

 

Prime Margo imo beats prime Martinez. Margarito is tougher than Williams and hits harder. He would not get knocked out in that brutal fashion and I guarantee he would not take the same amount of left hooks that Williams took even if his defense is horrible.
