This has nothing to do with Floyd man. Tito, DLH wasn't walking around at 170. That's super middle weight right their. Even DLH was naturally smaller than WW. Be real here. He's not fighting in a natural weight class. He's talking advantage of a small weight class.
If he did that, then yes he would. But no, he wouldn't beat Margarito. Floyd isn't the same fighter he was when lighter. Doesn't move like he used to, throw as much (averaging around 450 - 500 thrown) and isn't aggressive enough to beat a relentless volume puncher with heavy hands. Nor does he hit hard enough @ 147 to keep Margarito off him. If he was to beat Margarito, (or even Williams) he'd need to stand his ground at times, and that's not gonna work with two guys SO much bigger who hit much harder. Plus Floyd is as his best when comfortable. He'd get no such comfort, or room to operate with either. I think he can beat Clottey though. Then again, Clottey's defense and size can keep him in there with anyone. We saw how ineffective Judah's punches were against Clottey (same w/ Cotto vs. Margarito). Floyd would have to fight the perfect fight to beat all of them, mainly Williams or Margarito.
What about Floyd v. Margarito's last four opponents? Its only fair: Paul Williams - Bearing in mind Floyd started his career at 130, and Paul Williams could easily move up to middleweight, and he BEAT Antonio Margarito, I see this as a UD for Floyd. Golden Johnson - Floyd KOs this guy. And who is this guy anyway? Oh thats right, he's nobody special AT ALL. Why did Margarito fight this guy if he's so great? What is the most feared welterweight, that Floyd "clearly" ducked, doing fighting this guy? Kermit Cintron - Floyd easily decisions this guy, and quite possibly stops him. Miguel Cotto - This is the one people won't be sure of, but after analysis, I see this as a UD for Floyd at the very least, but possibly he could break him down and stop him in the later round. Margarito is a BIG welterweight, who could move up in weight, and be successful (if he's good enough). Welterweight is Floyd's FOURTH weight class. But not to make it TOO unfair, lets say Margarito only goes up to 160. And fights a cross section of guys. He fights someone below him (like Hatton for Floyd), in Vernon Forrest. If Forrest is injury free and determined, and why shouldn't we assume he's at his best? He beats Margarito. Then Margarito fights Taylor, who is a former champ with disappointing losses (like Zab Judah). He loses to him, I don't know if he would get knocked out, because Margarito has never been in with someone that size that can punch and has good handspeed and decent boxing skills. Another fighter that had a belt at some point, and lets say was really too big for middleweight (just like Baldomir for Floyd), but nothing too special. So Margarito fights someone like Allan Green (he went down in weight to fight Miranda), and gets beat if Green is in proper form. And what else? Okay. Margarito fights a former great champion, who fought at middleweight in his prime, but is at the end of his career, has had some losesss at higher weights. Just like De La Hoya for Mayweather. Well who could this be? Well **** it could be anyone from Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones, James Toney... ****, it could be a lot of people, that would utterly destroy Margarito. My point is... there IS no point in comparing them. If you try to compare their accomplishments - you end up with silly match ups like that, that Margarito would never be able to win. IF you just compare them by who Floyd actualy fought, well, Margarito would probably stop Hatton and Judah. But on the other hand, Floyd stopped Hatton, and would have easily stopped Judah if the fight hadn't been interrupted by intentional fouls and uh... well, a fight. Baldomir would lose a UD to Margarito, just like Floyd did. Oscar would go 12 rounds with Margarito, and if he's at his best... could win a UD or draw him. Margarito is not going to stop Oscar unless its on a body shot a la Bernard Hopkins. And to the other guy, if you think Judah is a total joke, you need to learn something about boxing. Zab maybe have lost big fights, but in terms of talent... he has as much talent as most any guy in the sport, with a few exceptions. He may have lost big, but if Margarito ever fought Judah and made the mistake of assuming he was a big joke... well, he would quickly change his mind after getting hit with a powerful, lightning fast uppercut that he never even saw coming and made him spit up blood.
How do you know what weight Tito was walking around at? Or DLH? These are tall muscular guys. It's not hard for them to add 15 - 20 pounds in between fights. And no, their walking around weigh does NOT dictate what weight they are. WTF is that about? And now DLH was somehow SMALL for a WW? Did I read that right? :huh Do you honestly think Margarito is that much bigger then tito or DLH or Ike or Hearns @ 147? :huh You only think Margarito isn't a WW because there are several small WW's in that class. Guys who came up from 140. NONE OF YOU made this fuss until Mayweather moved to 147. And you know that.
Is "Floyd wins" all you can ever say? atsch Do you even have any smarts? Can you post more then just posting Floyd's resume from time to time or just saying he wins? Any newb like you can just say WHO WINS. It takes someone who watched the SPORT to say HOW it's done. But go ahead and just say he pot shots his way to a win...
Floyd fans...??? How are you even uttering the words "Floyd's fans"...!!!??? You are responding to one poster...you aren't responding to "Floyd's fans".atsch
Exactly. Baldy gives AM problems too. AM might pull out a decision. Dlh got tired against Floyd because of Floyd's defense. Dlh would approach AM differently. I would pick Dlh to beat AM, but not at 147.
Wow...great post. Very insightful. And coming from you, who's first 20+ posts contained the phrase "Margarito fans...."..makes you even more pointless.
INTERESTING INDEED.. DLH vs mayweather both at the lower weights would of been a war. hatton was almost almost ko`d by collazo in the 12th round.. its no biggie that floyd cracked him later.. Pharaoh hit it right key here is floyd moved up in weight..when margs went up a couple of lbs to 154 it wasnt so sweet for margs.. sure margs beats these four much smaller guys..though the dlh that jumped to 147 would be a hand full..later.
