When I first heard of the matchup, first thing I thought was Pacquiao is going to overwhelm Margarito with his speed/angles/movement/workrate.

However, the Manny from his last 4 fights with a huge chip on his shoulder and consistent training on his skills/conditions isnt the manny whose going to show up in this fight.

This Manny Pacquiao thinks hes invincible. This Manny Pacquiao hasnt had a good consistent training camp. This Manny Pacquiao has obvious distractions.

On the flip side...I 100% expect Margarito to be at his career best physically/mentally for this fight. He has a massive chip on his shoulder for obvious reasons. He's been training extremely hard for this fight for a long time, and has gotten his body and mind in tremendous condition. Oh yeah, and the fight is at 150 pounds, where Margarito won't have to drain himself to make weight and may have as much as a 15 pound weight advantage over pacquiao.

Maybe ESB is a bad spot to write this/get feedback, but I'm feeling this may be a tremendous opportunity to bet Margarito as a 5-1 underdog based on these things alone. If you look at most mma/boxing fights in which big underdogs (4-1 or more) cashed in...It often wasn't variance. It was won in the gym.

That's a good analysis. But it relies on the assumption that the training camp problems are true. Except for congress distracting his training, I for one thinks it's just a ploy.

It might be a ploy to thats true. I definitely dont trust what bob arum says at all...i'm still waiting to see how it plays out as outside sources will be able to see him train in LA shortly.

Pac has always started off a bit slow in his training camp and always manages to fine tune himself. He's so physically gifted that he can slow down a bit and still be able to catch up easily. His over-confidence hasn't hurt him. Before the Cotto fight Pac had set up a victory concert for his fans. Pac is taking the same approach for Marg and knows he's got it in the bag. This isn't MMA where epic upsets have been recurring throughout the year. Bet on the Filipino.

I thought Pac was crazy to fight Oscar.

I thought Pac/Hatton might be a FOTY candidate.

I thought Cotto had a very good chance.

I thought Clottey would do enough to look good losing.

I'm rooting for Tony, but my Pacman track record ain't to good!

Same "distraction" rumor during the Pac Cotto fight.

Arum has told Tony when to lay down.

If for some reason Margo chooses not to comply with greasy uncle Bob I hope he then knocks Emmanuel out of the ring and ends this catch-weight farce once and for all. Both of them are cheating ****s but there is something very snide and disingenuous about the catfish.

I agree that this title fight is a farce. But Margo is training like a deamon and he is not doing all this to lay down

You know, you are allowed to think for yourself. Just because Uncle Roger believes Margarito will take a dive, it doesn't mean you must believe it too.

Margarito is a proven cheater, done his time or not... it's not unreasnable to assumne he'd be willing to take a dive. Not saying Pacman would be in on it, but i'd definitly not put it past Margarito.

Look at this sheep repeating what meth head Roger said.

It just goes to show that no matter how stupid something is theres always someone dumb enough to believe in it.

I understand your point, but it's still a bold statement to make. A scenario that's highly unlikely too.

You could also look at that from another point of view and say that
Margo has such a will to win that he will go to any lengths to achieve that.

He will need a miracle to pull this one out.
