trinidad by unanimous decision at 147lbs. trinidad will not give a **** if margos chin is granite.. he might not knock him down but margo will eat lots of shots for full 12 rounds

Yes, he was. Santos landed a flush left hook to the temple and Margarito wobbled, threw some punches back and was fine about 4 seconds later.

It wasn't really enough to warrent mention. The funny thing is Margarito and Trinidad have something in common, as does Cotto. All three of them have gotten off the canvas to win fights early in their careers. Of course Trinidad and Cotto were never rushed in their first 10 fights to fight guys like Rodney Jones or Larry Dixon. But that is all water under the bridge.

What seems important to me here is to recognize that Margarito is not Campas, nor Vargas. The advantages Margarito has is that he will go the distance. Trinidad was a big banger sure, but so is Cintron, whether you like it or not. It took a 170lb Daniel Santos, with power in his own right to knock Alcine out with one punch, to even wobble Margarito. And he still was getting his ass kicked down the stretch.

Trinidad was probably at his best at 154. 147 I believe he was draining down and even draining some of his power away. And I think that would be a significant point in this fight. I see Margarito going the distance and I see a very close fight. Trinidad would be severely tested in this fight.

Margarito was to catch Trinidad ala the way Vargas did
I'd expect the more consistant more active
better finisher in Margarito could have finished him off.

The 2001 version of B-Hop is about a billion times better than any version of Margarito. Trinidad kicks Margarito's ass at 154, via brutal TKO, and at 147 via KO. And today, Trinidad knocks out Margarito with one punch.

I don't know man. I think that Margo at 147 lbs could take a flush left hook from Tua at 235 lbs. A 20 year old Tyson wouldn't put a dent on Margo's chin. For real guys, Margo's chin is p4p one of the best if not the best today of the active fighters, but let's not act like Margo is not human. He has my respect because he took a crazy amount of punches from Cotto and stood in front of him like it was nothing and not many people can say that. A prime Trinidad I think can get Margo's respect, but I still think that the fight could go the distance, maybe a late stoppage around the championship rds.

Not trying to take anything away from Marg's chin, that's impossible to justify! But i read he's officially been down three times in his career, cant remember where i read that, but it was early in his career, is this true?

Anyway, the logic imo is, that NO1 comes at Tito, especially at 147, or 154, and wiins, people dont understand this and try to overlook it, the man's punches were so accurate and he was simply a FINISHER who is very possibly on the level of Joe Louis, or as close to as can be. Then i think that Mararito can just walk any1 down regardless of what they throw at him, he's like the Grim Reaper how he wont be denied his target. But Tito aint gunna be boxing, running or anything like that, so he wont be getting hunted down, i believe Marg looks his best when he actually has someone to do that with, he can impose his fear factor moreso like that. There's no such thing as intimidating Trinidad, i would just like to add that out of respect for him, although i dont want that to add to my case for my pick, as i dont believe it does, the reason being that both men are absolutely fearless. Anyway, Trinidad will be there, not trying to avoid shots, and will simply do the better work, a stoppage is actually possible, but i like and respect Margo too much to go there, Trinidad imo.

The problem I see for Trinidad is he'll stand there and bang with Margarito. At that point, it's a test of chins and power. In that situation it's a toss up as I cannot predict who will drop first.

Trinidad was a far more accurate puncher than Cotto....His punches were almost laser-guided...if margo took this fight and took as many bomobs from Tito as he did Cotto, he would not have got past those first 6 rounds...not to mention they are of equal size....this is an ugly fight for Margo.

I don't see Margo going down, but no one, and yes i mean no one, takes flush shots from Trinidad, hundreds of flush shots, and stays in more than 10 rounds at the most. He gets stopped like Campas, up against the ropes out on his feet. Campas has a solid chin, and only went 4 rounds. Margo isn't going 10. We are talking about perhaps the best finisher of the past 20+ years.
