Margarito vs Prime Trinidad

At 147 I see Margo breaking tito down even easier than cotto. I just don't see Tito (or anyone at 147 in modern times) beating margo without outboxing and outpointing him. Tito was useless as a boxer. Margo will walk through titos shots and apply enough pressure to break him down. Earlier because Tito won't be able to slip/parry/roll 85% of margos shots like Cotto did.

Anyone remember Joppy, he was one tough SOB both Hopkins and Taylor tee'd off on him for 12 rds, and he took it quite well, Tito in his first MW fight had Joppy on his ass in the first rd, anyone who thinks Margo could or would just walk through his shots is either delusional or a diehard dickrider. Furthermore Margo's name shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath with Tito, this his first big win even though he has already been beat 5 times.

While I think Trinidad could hurt Margarito, you are absolutely right about Trinidad's defense. There is no secret that he wasn't near as elusive as Cotto. All those missed punches on satuday night would have struck Trinidad right in the face. And Margarito is certainly heavy handed enough to hurt Trinidad.

It'd be one hell of a fight. Margarito is no Campas and Trinidad is no Cotto. I think all in all this would be one for the ages.

There are ppl here saying that tito's power is over rated, but I also think that Margo's chin is sometimes made out to be something super natural. While I do think that he easily has one of the best chins in the last 10-20 years (p4p), he's still human. How many left hooks from Tito will it take to crack the chin?

 

One Flush left hook from Trinidad and Margo will be thinking twice about just walking through Tito's shots. Also, Trinidad was a great bodypuncher. Cotto almost never went to the body because he could not afford to stand in front of Margo for too long, Trinidad could land the bodyshots that could break Margo down.
