Antonio Margarito vs Thurman who do you have winning? This would be a hell of a match a complete war. I honestly believe this would be good enough to be fight of the year. Thurman got power, but Margarito you know would never back down.
This wouldn't be even a war.. we are VERY deceived at how the 147 division right now is being hyped up right now.... The current 147 pounds division vs. what it was when Mayweather (Prime), Cotto (Prime), Paul Williams (Prime) and even Cintron (Prime) & Judah (Prime).... The current stack of fighters wouldn't stand a chance.... sadly the current competition is not as good because they are not being allowed to improve themselves by fighting the best. Could Thurman be a beast? Sure but not fighting 40 year old men.... and the competition he is being fed. These fighters need to put their foot down and fight the best.
I'm not a Thurman fan but certain fighters will definitely avoid him. Khan and Maidana are 2 of them. Since Maidana made good money fighting Broner and Floyd twice I doubt he would fight Thurman.
Yup, the division is only getting more and more diluded, weaker and weaker. Truth is Floyd-Manny fight is the only fight that matters at 147. They need to either move a division up or down for fights worth a dam. I'd rather see Floyd vs Lara at 154 instead of Khan or Brook and Pacquiao vs Matthysse or Garcia, but that ain't happening.
Margarito is so overrated. He is a punching bag with a legendary chin. Thurman would Shane Mosley his a$$.
Not to mention Margarito post-concrete-wraps went from being nearly invincible to 0% win rate against good opponents. He wasn't a cheater says his fans :rofl:rofl:rofl
Thurman is being well matched - Zaveck Chaves Soto Karass and Bundu are solid guys to gain experience against. The likes of Guerrero turned down a fight against him.
Soto Karass is B version of Margarito. So I imagine Thurman will use same strategy against Margarito.
